Breaking News - Rush dumps Orchestra for Marching band

4/1/13 -
My time is too limited as it is to branch out to a new band. I will stick with Rush.
-
Aaah! Was not thinking in military time. It is very close to 9:11 though.
-
I don't frequent here a lot so I probably missed this topic but has there been any comment from the band regarding the clock on the album being set to 9:11? Is this a tribute to that fateful day?
-
Let's face it, they are no "young" anymore. But isn't your age a relative thing? I don't feel 50 in my thoughts, but my body is starting to tell me it is so. Physically, the band is slowing down some. The days are gone that they would tour, write music, record an album and tour again year round.

Is dog spit good for wrinkles? Only one way to find out.

I would think that Neil would be much more trim with all the calories he burns thumping those drums so much.
-
I nominate this idea for the "Stupidest idea of the year(so far)" award.
-
Just because he is the best drummer of all time does not require him to be nice to everyone. Appreciate his talent while you can. He just doesn't want to be your friend. Boo Hoo for you.

I'm bored. How about another 2012 setlist thread?
Nim2 replied to D3strukt's topic in On The Lighted Stage
Setlist threads need to go the way of the HOF thread. -
Old musicians never retire, they just slow down until they stop.

A penny mistake I think could be legitimate. Counting out 2,3,4 pennies while in a hurry can result in mistakes easily. The other point is the stories many have floated in this thread. No one knows that kid's story except him. Maybe he is truly a thief, getting away with a dime here, a nickel or quarter there. In the course of a shift working a drive through could mean a total well above his usual hourly pay. The detail is that he was doing it. Even if it was to support is ailing grandmother, it is still not right.

The definition of FAME from Webster's includes two words prominently: REPUTATION RENOWN If the RRHOF uses the definition of the word, considering these 2 words that define it, why and how do some bands with the reputations of drug use, criminal behaviour and other improprieties get inducted. The majority of inductees do deserve a place in the RRHOF. That is not the arguement here. Has RUSH built some large, over whelmingly bad reputation that is keeping them from induction? Does mulitple gold/platinum albums and sold out tours over 35 years not create a large amount of RENOWN? I would like to take the time to list some of the truly puzzling inductees as how the definition of FAME does not apply to them in the area of their reputation and renown. Discuss amongst yourselves. I gotta go to work.

3 some would give me MANY more sweeeeeet memories.

I don't foresee a Rush cover of that one. FUNNY!

I hope you have lookd at ALL your alternatives. Taking out a piece of your brain is a risky, extreme move. As a chiropractor, I have seen a lot of people improve and even eliminate seizures without meds, by changing diet, yoga/meditation, chiropractic, acupuncture, etc. There is no guarentees with any of these but at least they don't have the same risks of surgery. Whatever your outcome, I wish you the best.

OLV is one of my favorite all time Rush songs. VP is a very good album.
-
There are good and bad tracks on every album. You can't please everyone.

Great pics. But pics can only fill a small part of that empty post-show void. It's been 10 days since Louisville. Geuss I should get back to the more serious things in life. Wife, kids, job, NBA playoffs..... Of course all those come with a 24/7 RUSH soundtrack.

QUOTE (KW84 @ Oct 5 2010, 10:26 PM) The battle flags are flown at the feet of a GARDEN GNOME. I confess. I was wondering what size those battles flags would have to be if they were actually flying at the feet of a garden gnome. Those would some pretty tiny flags. For a while I thought the line in 2112 was "My life PLUG spills over"

Join the throng. See a LOT more shows. I ran into the "jean jacket covered in Rush patches" guy prior to the show in Louisville. I had seen him at various venues before and just casually asked him how many shows he had seen. His reply was that this was...... # 64! I thought my 15 was doing pretty good.......

Snippet is being generous. one or two bars of a song????? That's just not right, or fair.

In the middle of Far Cry he started singing "ITS A FAR CRY FROM THE WORLD WE....." then quickly changed to "...IT'S FALLING IN ON ME"

Thanks for the post on WLKY. Glad they even did a review. Loved the show despite a couple flubs. That's just the way live shows go sometimes. Neil's solo was one of his best.
