Great news! Congratulations, Nova! :cheer::heart::cake1: Have you already met the newborn?

I have and she looks wonderfully made and destined for great things! If I knew how to put pictures here, I'd add one (old guy issues . . .).

I filed my taxes! :7up:

As usual, my effective tax rate was around 11%, which seems fair considering my income.  I live comfortably, am debt-free, own property & several vehicles, and can support my children.  As usual, I won't be getting money back from the IRS. In fact had to pay around $9000 to the IRS on top of what had been deducted from my income throughout the year.  No complaints, though.  I'd say having to pay extra because of good financial fortune is a nice problem to have.

Meeting family at my sister's birthday today.  Such a lovely party. We ate well. I sang karaoke with my sister. I gave a short speech. People had fun, the kids played in the big house, my sister and her family and my cousin joined a group hug before I left. I've never had one before.

In a bus back home I met a nice person who's a music professional. We just started talking spontaneously. He had his custom made guitar and his violins in cases, and that gave a good start for chatting. It turned out he lives in the same neighborhood with his wife who also is a musician. It's so nice to meet open-hearted, friendly folks.

I swear on my stack of Rush CD's:  I was cranking Jacob's Ladder (ESL) when I drove into my grocery store's parking lot and saw this.

Finally, back on the forum.  The Fire tablet I do most of my posting from crashed, wiping out my passwords, and multiple requests to the admins were for some reason not getting through.  So I went on via my laptop and everything worked out.  Yeehaw!

Had a great walk through the sand dunes at Washoe Lake.  Desert wildflowers were in full bloom, songbirds were out, and a wild stallion was curious enough to come within ten feet of us.

Enjoying my day-off on my balcony. In late May we had an exceptionally long heat wave that lasted for weeks. A few days ago we finally got some rain to ease with the drought. Now the skies are blue again, the sun is shining and everything is in full bloom. I love summer! Gonna get me some ice cream soon and then start with my bass studies for the day.

Indiana Fever defeat the Phoenix Mercury in their first head to head game. Phoenix veteran and WNBA great Diana Taurasi famously dismissed Caitlin Clark's potential as a rookie saying "Reality is coming".  We'll, reality came, as Clark out-performed Taurasi and finished with 15pts, 9 reb and 12 asst.

One of the automatic sprinkler valves in our lawn system has been acting up and I've been having to manually turn it on.  I thought I might have to replace it, and it's an old system that was glued on instead of with couplers, so that would have been a pain.

Before taking that job on I figured I'd just  take the existing one apart and see if cleaning the diaphram would help.  Eight screws out, a good washing, and eight screws in and...DISCO!  :7up:

Whew!
