  1. 1. What do you think of 90125?

    • An underrated YES album, I like it
    • Hate it, it's not prog and it's not even rock
      0
    • A bland album I don't even think about it these days
    • The best YES album of them all by far
    • It's a middle of the pack album for me
    • It's near the bottom of the barrel
      0
    • Never heard the album, I stopped buying YES albums after Tormato back in 1978
      0
    • Shit sandwich
      0
    • It's way too poppy for my taste
      0
    • Rabin ruined that version of YES with his riff-happy style, Howe plays more melody lines than actual riffs
      0
    • I didn't used to like it but now it's my go-to YES album
      0
    • It's overrated if anything
      0
    • This is the album that ruined RUSH, Geddy and Alex heard 90125 and tried to make their albums sound like Trevor Horn produced them throughout the rest of the 80s
    • It's progtastic and poptastic at the same time
    • It's a top 10 YES album for me
    • It's a top 5 YES album for me
    • It's a top 3 YES album for me
    • I refuse to listen to it, I took one look at the terrible artwork in 1983 and vowed to never listen to a note of it and I've kept that vow.
      0
    • Rabin is not even a man! His birth invented trolls! He's an impotent imp!
      0
    • Squire thought he wanted to be a New Romantic in 1983 and tried to dress like one, but he looked more like Quentin Crisp after a trip to Oxfam
      0
    • Wakeman threw tomatoes at the cover and in fact he dumped his whole dinner on it and then took a greasy dump on it
    • Howe threw up when he heard Owner of a Lonely Heart
      0
    • Anderson wanted so badly to become a sex symbol to the married soccer mom housewives of America but most of them couldn't even see him, they thought he was the pool boy
      0
    • Kaye refused to change his appearance to look like Wakeman, and he bellowed like an ape when Anderson suggested a rubber Wakeman mask
      0
    • White insisted that he wear an oversized carrot in his pants throughout the whole tour but he lost several of them, no one ate the vegetables at dinner
      0
    • Trevor Horn was beaten up several times during the recording sessions by a mysterious man in a cape, Wakeman denied it was him saying: "when have I ever worn a cape?"
      0
    • Howe scowls every time he has to play 90125 songs onstage, he says he doesn't even remember who Rabin is or why he has to play those songs
    • Alex Lifeson swears he wasn't the man in the cape who attacked Trevor Horn, "I wanted to attack him sure, but that was AFTER the album was released and Geddy made me into his synth simp"
      0
    • I don't know the album, I'm with Howe
      0
    • I am the mysterious man in the cape, yes it was me, f**k you Trevor!

Considering how popular it is, no way it’s underrated. It’s top 3 for me. Close on the heels of CTTE and TYA.

I have the original Atlantic 45 from 1972.

A side Roundabout

B side Long Distance Runaround

IMO ... Great musicians, but to me, they  became Pretentious.

That being said, there are many many bands worse than YES.

I dumped my nachos on it.

It's a good  album. Top three. It's the first Yes album I ever listened to in high school. It took me a while to get used to their earlier stuff.

This one was my gateway into Yes, and I'm one of those who believes you can't forget your first, so 90125 is probably my favorite Yes album at an emotional level, even though I recognize that some of the early '70s stuff was better.

"Owner of Lonely Heart" gets me every time, and I've still got "It Can Happen" and "Leave It" in my library.

My only objection to this poll is there aren't enough choices, and the narrative feels incomplete. Too many Trevors.

I find that 90125, the first Asia album, and GTR work well together in a playlist.

I love this album.  took me a while to come around too it.  I think it's the most succesful in being pop but also remaining very prog and very interesting musically.

Also i think this stomps Asia's debut.  the band that actually had Steve Howe in it, lol

top 5 yes album for me

I don't dislike it - not up there with some of the 'classic' albums which preceded it, but certainly better than a lot of the ones that followed!

I was like Ozzy and Nova with this album, it was the first YES I got into, and then I gradually worked my way through all the other stuff.

I just did a YES album ranking a few days before this thread, I have it 7th. So I guess I have to click the Top 10 option.

I haven't really done a ranking but it would probably sneak into my top 10 also!

Oh God you're mad! I think it's because when you heard City of Love it scared you, it reminded you of the theme to Jaws!

treeduck...he claims to be metal all the time.  But he's faking cause this is the most metal album ever and he can't handle it.  it's above his understanding.

Shorter/poppy songs =/= bad songs.

King Crimson, Rush, and Yes all put out great albums during the 80s

that'd a mentality i hate (not saying you have it, lol)

but it's one that pushes my buttons.

add genesis in there.  but i'm a total mark for that era of the band, lol

Damn I forgot all about Genesis! I think Jethro Tull and Pink Floyd are the only 80s prog that don't really land for me.

Imo Rush put out their best albums in the 80's starting with "Permanent Waves".
