chemistry1973 Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 I downloaded the audiobook and it comes with 2 treated demos. They’re f***ing great! Weightier than what’s on MFH. 3
NoahLutz Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Are these songs included with the Audible version of the book? 1
J2112YYZ Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 I didn't even know there were new Geddy songs 1

They were recorded for MY FAVORITE HEADACHE, in 2000. 2 hours ago, NoahLutz said: Are these songs included with the Audible version of the book? Yes, at the end. I just jumped ahead to look for them. They're called "Gone" and "I Am, You Are." Both are on the mellow side, really. Think "The Angel's Share" or "Still." Now back to where I left the narrative... 1
NoahLutz Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 Chapters 35 and 36 are the "new" songs in the Audible book. 1

Yes - though it sounds like some of the singing was recorded much later.
chemistry1973 Posted November 14, 2023 Author Posted November 14, 2023 By the way. I can’t recommend the audible version enough. Geddy is a fantastic narrator. Listening to the chapter about his parents is incredible, harrowing and very touching. 6
Union 5-3992 Posted November 14, 2023 Posted November 14, 2023 It's up on Spotify too if you have Premium.

I got my audio copy through Libro.fm, which I changed over to a couple of years ago after Audible made changes to their files. I also like that my purchases give a local bookstore some funds which is nice. 4
thizzellewashington Posted November 15, 2023 Posted November 15, 2023 Just listened to both, they sound pretty good, on par with most of the songs on My Favorite Headache. Hope he makes another solo record. 2

grep Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Really good songs. It might be my imagination, but the harmonies on the first song sound a little strained. I get the impression that he recorded some vocal layers recently. 1
Pressure/Hopenosis Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 I am you are is the better song imo but gone is so emotional you can tell in his delivery. Ben is awesome!!!!! 3
toymaker Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 (edited) I'm sure we're all buying the book. Everyone deserves to hear these! Edit: I see these have been posted elsewhere. Edited December 7, 2023 by toymaker
J2112YYZ Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Pretty good songs. Calling them "killer" is a bit much though. 1
Holdyourfireal Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 A month after they came out and "fans" are starting to notice them? SMH. 1

The songs weren't released publicly until this week. The only way to hear it before this was the audio book which not all fans had access to. Get your facts straight before you decide what constitutes being a fan. 1

Jeffrey Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 They are both great tracks. It is simply so great to hear new material. 3
thizzellewashington Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 "I Am You Are" is the better of the two, for sure. "Gone" is OK, not as good as the ballads on MFH. It's just nice to hear his voice again. 1
