I actually played the remix, but I've always preferred the original.

Same!

only song I feel was truly improved on the remix was How It Is, which just so happens to be the least heavy song on the album

Paul McCartney - Memory Almost Full

Paul McCartney - Flaming Pie

In SOCN recently, the point was made that Rush gets a pass for their late 20th century output because of the longevity of their career.  In effect, the argument was made that eventually even great artists have to come down the mountain.  Flaming Pie was released 30 years after Sgt. Pepper.  Memory Almost Full was released when McCartney, who as a young man wistfully sang "When I'm Sixty-Four," was.  They're both great albums.

I'm a big fan of Later McCartney output. There's lots of great stuff from him in the 21st century, particularly stuff from Chaos and Creation in the BackyardNEW, and McCartney III

Latter day Macca has been fun as hell for me.

Funny this came up. Just last night I spent a couple late hours exploring random latter-day Macca tunes (I've heard nothing after Chaos and Creation) thanks to a thread at the Steve Hoffmann forums. I remember liking "Alligator" a lot.

All the 1970's Judas Priest records.   Just because..... I woke up in the mood for some Sad Wings of Destiny, and just went with it from there all the way to British Steel.

You don't have to be old to be wise, but it was worth it to take the trip to the island of domination along with the killing machine to see the last rose of summer.  Unfortunately the tyrant had genocide on his mind. The green manalishi with the 2 pronged crown tried to oppose the tyrant, but you know how it goes living after midnight.  Sinner was rising with the storm....and the devil rode beside him. They felt like running wild, and they did NOT stand back for exciter.
