78jazz Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 (edited) The poll of the debut albums between these acts inspired this, as this one is a more clear cut winner for me (III). Edited December 9, 2022 by 78jazz
Entre_Perpetuo Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 EL for sure. Zep III is not in the same tier 1
Texas King Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 EL easily LZ III is very good, but the weakest out of the first six Zep albums. 1
IbanezJem Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 Electric Landlady has Voodoo Chile. But other than that, is no match for a record containing Immigrant Song, Gallows Pole, Tangerine and Bron-Y-Aur Stomp. I might not have ended the record with Hats off (to Roy) Harper, but there we are. 2

Mosher Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 LZIII is really my favorite Zeppelin album, so it wins. Possibly the only Zeppelin album that would beat EL. 1
custom55 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 (edited) LZ III is so good. Friends -> Celebration Day must be heard together. Out On The Tiles is outstanding. Edited December 8, 2022 by custom55 3

I rank III much higher than I used to. If nothing else, it has what IMNSHO is their best acoustic song (That's the Way). Plus, is there any better concert opener ever besides Immigrant Song? 1
custom55 Posted December 9, 2022 Posted December 9, 2022 Back in the 70's I had a friend who did not like Led Zeppelin. He was more into The Strawbs, Renaissance, etc. I gave him my LZ III album and said, "have an open mind and give this a listen". The next day he asked if he could borrow more LZ albums. LZ III turned him into a LZ fan. 1

cygnify Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 both great - and I love both of them. Just personally prefer LZIII by a (short) hair 1
