Tom Waits-Heartattack & Vine (10/10)

My 2nd fav Waits Album. Showcasing a blue-sy even Rock-y side here while Mixing with soe of his best ballads ever

On the Nickel

Jersey Girl (Springsteen would adopt this for live shows but......tom's better, lo)

Ruby Arms (heartbreaking)

Mr Siegal

The title song

Saving All My Love

Next album would see him shift into the Tom we know now......Crazy Experimental but never dull, lol

Tom Waits-Blue Valentiine(9/10)

I think this can be seen as the height of Wait's Bar piano man phase as the next one would start a shift in his sound and style

but Gosh i adore this record so many classics here.

Red Shoes by the Drugstore

Christmas Card from A Hooker In Minneapolis

Romeo Is Bleeding

$29.00

Whistlin' Past the Graveyard

Kentucky Avenue

The tiite Track

Tremendous work.

Mick

Tom Waits-Swordfishtrombones (10/10)

Tom enters phase two. Gone is the drunk beatnick piano bar man. in his place is an experimental mad scietist. and it's awesome. Tom's great storytelling remains but he adds interesting music arangements, Weird short vinettes and odd vocal ticks.

my favs include.

Underground

Shoreleave

Johnsburg/ Ilnois

16 Shells from A Thirty-ought Six

In the Neighborhood

Down Down Down

Soldier's Things

Gin Soaked Boy

Tom is one of the few 70's acts who had his best work in the 80's IMO.

Pete Way - Alive In Cleveland. Sounds kind of like a cross between UFO and a punk rock attitude.

Have been sort of going down the Schenker/UFO rabbit hole as of late. So on to Pete Way solo material. Next I think is Uli John Roth's solo stuff....

This is what I like about streaming. I can explore at minimal cost, and then cherry pick which artists I want to support with a purchase.

Alice Cooper - Zipper Catches Skin [7/10]

A hilarious and fun album. I guess it was recorded at a time when drunk was funny.

Tom Waits-Rain Dogs (10/10

Kind of a trilogy with Swordfishtrombones and the next. Rain dogs is my fav of them.

this album is sort of like a dark cabaret. it's got songs in all different styles and moods. i 'm not gonna list songs cause i literally love it all.

oh and anyne that said tom can't write hooks never heard Hang Down your head, Time or Downtown Train (yes that downtown Train that rod had a radio hit with, loll)
