goose
I will give it the all important 'beer head' test tomorrow ,,, but treeduck mentioned earlier that it sounded more 'pop metal'...... I think that is what is troubling me .... the earlier albums had a bit of 'edge' to them .... this is more like a polished, corporate effort.Great material, but too polished for my tastes. And I hate the drum sound.

Entre_Perpetuo
I love the "vibe," of ɘnoႧ ʜɈiw ƨɿoɿɿiMIt's the last Aerosmith album that was organically Aerosmith. The next album started the outside songwriter "collaborations" that compromised Aerosmith and pushed them firmly into the corporate rock AOR MTV crap that unfortunately is now part of the band's legacy. In other words it's the album they released before the total sell out. I dig sell outs.

I don't understand the dislike for the song. Liked it right away. It's a bit different but it has a good riff and like all Ghost songs is very catchy. They've always been a theatrical band and it's not hard for me to get them doing a song like Twenties.

Darkness At The Heart Of My Love was the song that took me a few listens to come around to. At first I thought it was just some cheesy ballad written to be a hit and nothing more. But after listening to it a few more times and following along with the lyrics, I realized the song has more depth than that. It's a beautifully haunting ballad and the perfect way for Ghost to do that style of a song.
