ReRushed
Hold Your Fire has grown on me over the years. Considerably. 90125 is a fantastic album, but I feel the same way about it as I did in the '80's. Hold Your Fire takes it. For now, I'll take "Owner of a Lonely Heart" over "Time Stand Still", but by the slimmest of margins.

Excellent pop albums but...I don't think they are the best pop albums of the era. Not really. As far as Yes albums go, I don't think they compare to the seventies works. Too different and entirely separate.
Blue J
Rush on both counts. I'm not really a fan of Yes music from the '80s.

cygnify
Not sure it's an fair comparison: 1984 v 1987 Put P/G up against 90125! (Closer battle IMO) Or HYF VS. BG! (Yes' BG tour came through my hometown a couple days before the HYF tour did.) I'd go with Rush on that one! Related note: Chris Squire *almost* produced P/G after Lillywhite backed out, except he was busy with "Cinema"
