Can You Be a Metalhead and Secretly Love Duran Duran?

I have been a closeted Duran x2 fan for thirty plus years. My concert tees were festooned with Eddie but secretly at home I felt The Reflex.

I briefly had John Taylor's hairdo but blamed my hairdresser.

I like some of their stuff. They went off quite quickly after Rio and I can't stand Hungry Like The Wolf, New Moon on Monday or any of that nonsense. But after their popularity had waned they did some terrific stuff, like this:

It's simple math, follow along with the 15 year old ME from many moons ago

I love Iron Maiden.

Iron Maiden had kick ass songs

Iron Maiden had kick ass videos

Duran Duran had half naked chicks in ALL their videos with catchy beats...

The answer to your question is 1000% - YES !!

In the 80s I loved both, and still do

I even went apeshit around 1985ish and cut my long hair into a Duran Duran 'do

I'll find some pics and post them ... It will be an official admission and coming out

lol

No but you're allowed to like the spin-off band Power Station featuring both of the Taylors, because that band kicked a lot more ass than Duran Duran, plus they had Robert Palmer.

What Lucas said. :fistbump:

It still has Duran Duran style. Kick ass though.

I watched a Duran Duran DVD from their concert in 2005, I think. It was great!

I appreciate the Wedding Album and Medazzaland.

Paper Gods: what first caught my impression was the idea of drawing the cover or part of it on Deluxe Edition.

They still are good after so many years.

Never been a fan (thought Girls on Film was cool though) but it never occurred to me that other people shouldn't like them. Did bug me when A View to a Kill got voted best Bond theme in some poll, but if I'm going to worry about why most of the rest of humanity can't see things as clearly as I ( ;)), I've got more important places to start than Bond themes. For the record though, it's a toss up between Live and Let Die and Nobody Does It Better.

I'd say just Live and Let Die. Easily the most kickass Bond theme.
