Howard Stern is known for not being a Rush fan, but yesterday he was talking about how he decided to give Geddy's book a try and much to his surprise, fell in love with Geddy and thinks the book is a home run. I recorded it for you all :)2 points

And here I thought doing the Wendy's drive-thru and loudly quoting Scripture to the menu board speaker was a waste of time.....2 points

I'm not sure that many BOC fans love this album, but it's my 2nd favorite after the debut.2 points

Stern's an excellent interviewer these days, since he's toned down the crass.2 points

This was a weird spin....i mean for me. Miles Davis-Kind of Blue. i tried. really REALLY tried. but this kind of music just.......right over my head. i respect this man. but this stuff ain't me and it's ok. in fact it was torturous and that just told me i can save my time and energy. Mick2 points

Five Guys has gone up a lot since the pandemic. Here in NY, their normal two-patty burger, small fries and a bottle of water is now over $18. They're good burgers, and their fries are the best (and they don't skimp on them), but that's a lot. McD's burgers are bottom-tier for fast food burgers and are nowhere near as good as Five Guys, so the thought of paying $18 for a Big Mac meal is as hard to stomach as the burgers themselves.2 points

I'm taking a bit of a chance with this one, but it's funny and on-topic.1 point

it's ok. he's not for everyone. i enjoy his arrangements more than his humour and lyrics which is mostly toilet stuff. oh and i LOVE his guitar work. The lyrics do not even register to me. I've been trying Miles Davis and i have a similar reaction you do to Zappa. i respect him but god was i annoyed the ENTIRE time. lol. Mick1 point

Never could enjoy Zappa enough to listen to him on any regular basis. Tried a few times and nothing.1 point

The Last Hero is a masterpiece. I am happy to ignore half the fanbase 🤣1 point

i get why. he's music is facinating to just read abut. but.. listening to it i got like zero out of it. Shoe's on the other foot. now i feel like you. when i plant you with something that misses you, lol Mick1 point

Still Zappa. Tried some Miles Davis and..........nope i'll just leave him for folks who can appreciate that stuff. guy's obviously a pioneer and a game changer but........whoosh......right over my head, lol Actually i highly enjoy listening to people talking about miles music more then his actual music Mick1 point

People like to pontificate on why those things happen but it comes down to, because they can. A classic, long happening example is gasoline prices. If OPEC announces they're cutting production or some refinery goes off line, or any other reason, prices go up within a day or 2. When OPEC increases production or refineries come back on line, etc, prices may creep back down over the course of a few weeks but that's not a certainty.1 point

The coach for the Leafs got pretty upset in the game with Vegas, haven't seen a coach get a misconduct in a long time. Ended their 7 game winning streak, so time to start a new one. Speaking of streaks, MacKinnon extended his point total for home games with a goal and an assist against Dallas Tuesday. Makar also added another record to his tally. Most points scored by a defenseman in Avalanche history, 308 and passing Tyson Barrie's record. Rantenen is getting back into the groove and they will have Nichushkin back in the lineup soon. Looking much better Avs1 point

He has been interviewing some really good guests. Had Billy Joel on last week, also recently Metallica, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen etc... Some woman called after that segment and asked if he would have Geddy on the show for an interview and he said absolutely. We shall see.1 point

Regional or a local yokel for me, for the same reasons. Best example is subs (or hoagies, grinders, heroes, insert regional name here). I bypass franchisees of two major sub chains and two major thoroughfares to go to a local. Only thing covid has changed is they recommend phone or fax in your order beforehand as opposed to a still huge walk in business. Owner has been in biz well over 35 years, and also owns the frozen custard shop next door. Has to be doing something right.1 point

Worked at home for part of the day today so that gave me another chance to open up the moving box's again. First out: Ozzy - Diary of a Madman Side 1 with "Over The Mountain", "Flying High Again", "You Can't Kill Rock and Roll" and "Believer" is excellent. Side 2 is not as good but its nothing to sneeze at. Very good album. Next out: Jimmy Page - Outrider If you want Page of the late 1980's this is for you. Jason Bonham plays most of the drums on the album. Some songs have vocals and Robert Plant appears on one of the songs- not a plus for me since I don't care for his vocals. Overall the lyrics don't do anything for me. Its a decent album but nothing I am crazy for. Last out for the day: Foreigner - Double Vision The title track is still excellent as is "Hot Blooded" and "Blue Morning, Blue Day". The rest of the album is filler for me.1 point

They may be my team but that Clippers logo is awful. Even worse than the late 90s Angels logo that Cleveland Guaridans ripped off. At least Clipper jerseys aren't as bad as the striped Anaheim era.1 point
