  4. I’m playing it again. I had Back To December on repeat for probably half an hour when I first heard it earlier today. I had to buy the whole album after that.

  6. Actually, The Stones' Exile on Main Street, Some Girls and Tattoo You Deluxe Editions all had a number of great songs that didn't make it to those albums.

  11. Oh my God I just mentioned Back To December in my last comment before even seeing this reply! Look, no one is saying you'll become a big Taylor Swift fan. But this is the sole album of hers where she didn't work with one other songwriter. In essence, I don't see how anyone can dismiss this record but call themselves a fan. I'd say proceed with a patient air with any other albums. Her singles are so well known, it's easy to lose the deeper cuts. But should you try Red, I'd recommend these songs: Begin Again, State Of Grace, All Too Well and Ronan. 1989: Wildest Dreams, Clean (with Phoebe Bridgers)

  12. You won't be the first person to dismiss a superstars work. Check out the recent vault material, her duets with FOB and Hayley are terrific. Back To December is one of the best "I'm sorry" songs ever.

  13. The first single is a good jam. They're offering a high res bandcamp DL for $10, so I bit.

  14. Agree completely, audio helps me read while doing boring stuff and I have come to really love certain narrators so I listen to those series because of the reader. Such as Simon Vance, love his rendition of the Temeraire series (besides I am a sucker for British accents ) and George Guidall does a fantastic job on Longmire as well as Tony Hillerman's Navajo Detective series . The classics do require more concentration due to the subject matter usually, there are some books I tried in audio but went to the print because it just wasn't getting through. I'll take your word for it on Dorian, it was sad for me for that and Murder to be so disappointing. They both are touted as distinguished authors but I may have waited too late in life to read them, I find I have little patience with certain literary forms the older I get.

  16. I worked at our public library for a long time, and there was an older patron that liked to take out Dean Koontz books. He finally told me, "I like to read them, Mr. Koontz was my English teacher in high school!" It's true, when Koontz first graduated college, he taught in a town near us for a while. I don't think he's been back lately though!

  17. Back To December feels like it was written just for me and I found it just when I needed to. I think I’m gonna be deep diving with Speak Now for at least a week or two before trying another album, but I will make that next one Red for you. After all, I only thought to try this one because it was the one you recommended to me a while back. So thank you, Segue.

  18. Washington trying to cut the early Michigan lead to seven with a touchdown from 1st and goal from the seven. Run stuffed once. Run stuffed twice. Penix run, gets to the three. UW goes for it on 4th down...pass and catch. TD Huskies!

  20. I wrote a random number generator once, just to see how many 'tickets' it would take to hit a particular set of powerball numbers + the bonus. First run : about 12.500 sets of numbers in I got an exact hit. Second run : something like 37 million combinations before I got the exact hit. Third run, just over 2.5 million combinations before I got the hit. So yeah.... it's a tough game to guess correctly. As simple as it seems.

  23. Central Arkansas got some snow a few days ago! In my town, it was just a blanket that washed away in the rain afterwards, but as a Californian, it was very fun to play in and watch for a little bit. I took lots of pictures, and i had fun doing so.

  24. Oh man, I had that exact one, but I can’t remember if I donated it or kept it with my father in law when I moved. I would buy it if I had the money! I bought mine in 2014 when i was in high school, and I wore the shit out of it.

  25. If my opinion does matter, and makes a difference, I think "Dynasty" has been top ten among Kiss' studio c.ds, and albums like "Music From "the Elder"" does. They both are, and have been behind their first six of "Kiss", "Hotter than Hell", "Dressed to Kill", "Destroyer", "Rock and Roll Over", and "Love Gun". The two other ones are, and have been "Unmasked", and "Creatures of the Night". How I would list only those ten, I don't know, but for a number one even though Kiss' first six are, and have been close, and near to each other, "Rock and Roll Over".

  26. Advice columns! I fell into the trap of reading a couple of advice columns recently. My GAWD.....are these letters real or are they fabricated! The dysfunction, the ridiculously messed up people, the spineless people asking for the Advice Expert's permission to stand up for themselves..... I give myself a for reading it all.

  33. They are surreal and inventive. Ed aims for relateable realism which makes it soooo cringey. Still, some good production flourishes and killer hooks abound. I like this album well enough!

  34. I played it again last night, and I like it. However I hate his lyrics. They go something like this "My friend went to tesco, bought eggs, bacon bread though, made himself a sandwich, can't believe the bandwidth, of his melancholy state, he wished he had pizza" Like my god it's all drivel
