  5. I see a lot of cool people on here, and I hope they stick around, at least in some capacity. Indeed people move on to other things, but I know for me, I don't think I'll ever completely abandon this forum now that I'm here. I may go through a period of weeks or even months without being on, but I'll always come back. Rush has been an influential band in my life since I was about 8 or 9 years old and I feel like I'll always have something more to say, even given that they're retired.

  6. I'm actually listening to it right now. I like it. Is it Pyromania? No. But so far so good. I do get your point about 15 tracks though.

  9. After one of my cats passed away, I would wake up in the middle of the night and swear I saw him curled up, sleeping on the closet floor. The closet has two sets of folding doors, and I always kept one side open. I just dismissed it as being half-asleep, and also the room was only dimly lit with a nightlight. It could have been the play of light and shadow, combined with my imagination. It happened frequently enough that I eventually kept the closet door closed!

  11. This series has been so exciting but I almost couldn't watch the last 50 seconds..then Helm gets the goal. So happy for the Avs to beat the 2nd round curse. The team really played hard and deserved the win. Now let's see how Smith will handle all the shots the Avs are going to be aiming at him

  13. That dance....worked... Somehow during the software upgrade the posting permissions for that forum got turned off. Fixed. Also, no such things as post quotas.

  14. At least you saw it for yourself! Still a family joke in our family after all these years! My sisters and I had gone to the movies with my dad to see the original. My dad is a huge movie buff and enjoys finding plot similarities, he had never seen this movie before. Anyway, 5 minutes after goose comes on the screen my dad says, "oh, that's the best friend that'll die." WHAT?? DAAAAD!

  17. Oh wow, man. It's unbelievable you've steered the discussion into this ditch. You've callously ripped the scab off a wound which I previously thought had healed. And now . . . all I hear are the sad strains of "Love Theme from Goose's Death" reverberating through my mind.

  21. The new album is good and enjoyable but not really anything we haven't heard before from them. Longtime fans should enjoy it. I wouldn't recommend a potential new fan to hear it right away though. I'm not sure what Joe was talking about in interviews where he was calling this a landmark album and a quantum leap musically for the band. There's a couple different things going on but it's still 95 percent the Def Leppard we have known for the last 35 years. It's just a little bit lighter because they're older now.

  25. That has happened with both a dog and cat of mine. The dog was usually lying on the couch when I would get home from work. So, whenever I would walk towards the living room I would see him out of the corner of my eye. But then once I put my head up straight and looked right at the couch, he was no longer there. My cat made noises in the house for about a month or two after he died. I co-own the house with my brother and he said he would hear things too that sounded like the something was moving around or making random noise under a dresser or bed. Then one day I was watching TV and out of the corner of my eye, I saw something light brown (the color of the cat's fur) appear on the floor in front of me. When I looked down it was gone. We never heard any noises in the house again or saw any other signs he was around after that. I guess that was his way of finally saying bye to me.

  26. I keep seeing my cat Ron who has been gone a couple of months. He always came out in the front room in the evenings when we were watching tv, I could swear I saw his cream colored tail go past the coffee table several times this week. I miss him so much, he was my best buddy.

  27. You, sir, have a specially dark humour. So perhaps if he un-creates the thread, our replies will equally be un-created and the whole topic will lapse into time. And then, we are faced again with how to build the derned filter he wants to re-create. And then we loop into...a time when one wonders how to build it? Alas, we can not build anything that will bring the great trio back. I love all the captures of their interviews, listening to all the music, reading the stories. But nothing will bring them back. I wonder if there is a filter that could be built so that...D'oh.

  34. Dire Straits-Brothers in Arms (710) I've always struggled with this album. no surprise it was the hit, lol this album feels more like the beginning map of a Knopler solo album.....and while not awful. he'd already begun to scale back his scorching soloing in favor of texture playing. the celtic sounds are popping up here. he was already getting bored of DS and it's suer obvious. as a knopler solo album. it's a good debut. As a DS album it's super disappointing. Mick
