Me with YES 2004 ( w/ Rick's hand on my shoulder ) I spent most of my time with Rick as we spoke a lot about The Strawbs and Six Wives. Jon was very open to talking as well. The others, not so much. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w276/custom55/YESPIC_zpsfce3d4fb.jpg4 points

Have we met before? You look familiar, but I can't place you...... His movies are usually on the "3 for 1" bin - could this be wehre you know him from? :P :D Here´s me and my wife at home last Sunday: http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k210/RodrigoAltaf/P1150806_zps0d130bff.jpg3 points

I agree. I remember when I came out and I thought this is not the Rush that I know. What's with all the keyboards? Not to say that it didn't grow on me because it definitely did. I always loved Subdivisions. You know they've always been so ahead of their time which I think is why their music holds up so well. Well done on coming out. sorry...had to say it...2 points

Love the album. My only complaint is that there is some incredible guitar work in there that is buried in the mix.2 points

I spent the past week with my parents in Florida trying to get their house sold and ready for sale there. We stopped by Savannah GA on our way back to Myrtle Beach to have lunch with my daughter Danielle. My wonderful parents with Danielle and then Danielle with me....... :) http://s16.postimg.org/sec8teydx/IMAG0874.jpg http://s10.postimg.org/dwdw910p5/IMAG0879.jpg2 points

I found her very unattractive. Never understood all the hoopla around her. I think it was her whole party-girl personae… he obviously felt that she made him feel younger or happier and again didn't want anything complicated. It was probably an arrangement of sorts that she would be taken care of if she gave him a great last few years of fun. It was her huge rack.2 points

Spaghetti, we've received two reports about you in the past couple days for your posts in this thread. To be fair, a report by itself doesn't always mean anything, but when we get a couple of reports in a short amount of time and see a few people saying they're putting you on their ignore lists, it makes us wonder what your deal is. So Spaghetti Lee is Bathory? Bathory grow the f**k up. says the old man who was upset that someone wrote about rush fans being nerds in his own blog post? and no, I did not make an account just so I could argue with that account on another account.2 points

And Counterparts is pretty much a typical 90s alternative rock album. There is not really single song on this album I care for much and would include in a "best of" collection. Animate is probably the best, but still nothing more than decent. The songwriting is just incredibly generic and boring and the good production doesn't make it any better. It doesn't even sound like Rush to me; I mean if Geddy didn't sing, I would probably think it's some other band with a bit of Rush influence here and there. I don't think it's their worst album (that title still goes to RTB), but easily second worst. Test for Echo was pretty "meh" too, but at least it was a somewhat progressive and just more Rush again. Of course some might argue that the debut album has even more generic songwriting, however it contains so much youthful power and drive that it makes up for that (especially live versions with Neil). Haha.. Alternative? A typical alternative 90s album? So Rush sounds like Janes Addiction on Counterparts? This thread is hilarious... Rush is both Grunge and Alternative with Counterparts.. I think people need to step outside their comfort zones and go listen to some college radio tunes.. Rush is NOT alternative in any way, shape it form with Counterparts ..2 points

Clockwork Angels came out almost exactly two years ago. I loved it at first listen and must have heard it 25 times in the couple weeks that followed. At the time I considered it to be in my top 5 Rush albums, and possibly in my top 3, but I did wonder if it would stand the test of time. I listened to CA a lot in the months after it was released and although I've heard individual songs as they've popped up on iTunes it's been 6-12 months since I've listened to it in its entirety. (I'll often take a break from albums after hearing them 10, 50, or 100 times so I don't get burned out.) This last weekend I travelled to visit a friend and thought this would be a good time to revisit CA and see if it stood the test of time. You know what? It did, for me at least. I listened to the album 5 or 6 or 7 times and I was still excited about it. I think it's a phenomenal album. What about you? Have you listened to Clockwork Angels lately? Has it stood the test of time for you?1 point

I was upset? Of course I wasn't, but this Rush/nerd thing is way overplayed. Anyone proud of being a geek might as well admit to being proud to be boring. Mind you, didn't Peart say that "the geeks shall inherit the Earth", so what do I know? As for the alter, well, Spaghetti Lee obviously doesn't have the same IP address as you as 73 would have spotted that straight away, but I still think it is either you or someone close to you. The article was talking about nerds, not geeks. Not the same thing.1 point

I've found the opposite to be true. The sound and production were such advances, I loved this album on first listen. But the songs never grew on me, I found myself making excuses for the lyrics, and eventually I got to a point were I'll skip all but 3 songs. I try and listen to the album at least once a year, but I'm starting to think that's a waste of time.1 point

No big surprise. But to see the boys dressed up in Kimonos with Ricky pretending to be Geddy, Bubbles being Alex, and the manufacturing of Neil's drum kit with Julian was very entertaining.1 point

Ok, I'll bite. Why does this, in any way, show that men are horrible? Because for the most part men treat women like disposable garbage to be thrown out past a certain age, which sadly is much younger than I expected but I'm not at all surprised. For the most part? Do you have a more concrete way of describing this? It sounds like the vast majority. I hope you don't really believe that. I have been married for 25 years next April and have no intention of running away with a younger woman. However, in a physical sense, I would say that, on average, I find a woman in the 23-38 age bracket more attractive than women close to my own age. That might just be the way we are and should not be denounced simply for existing. Of course, this is not a rule. Plenty of women closer to my age are attractive including some that are older such as Cindy Crawford (48), Jane Seymour (63), Diane lane (49) and more. I think we'd be better off understanding differences between men and women and only denouncing bad behavior not the preferences.1 point

Yeah, I bought it. P. T. Barnum never actually said it, but David Hannum did: "There's a sucker born every minute" PS—did the dvd contain the early, previously unreleased version of Natural Science AKA Sir Gawain and the Green Night? I heard that was supposed to be the hidden easter egg1 point

That's who it is? I thought it was a picture of you when you were young, back in the 16th Century.... :P No, I was better looking than that, but no one painted a picture of me, so I have to use what is available. Better looking than you are now? Bet guys were lining up offering you more than cupcakes! *passes banana* Yes, better looking than I am now. And no, no guys lining up. I scared men for some reason. They said my eyes looked right through them. Seeing through guys isn't REALLY all that difficult. Not that they were probably looking at your eyes. :) You wouldn't have scared me off...girls love me! (Unfortunately, despite this being true, 9 times out of, oooh, 50,000 desire me as more than a friend. And those nine are rarely my type. :givebeer: ) They're probably afraid you'll want to play "Tunnel of Love" with for them. I don't even play that for myself!1 point

That right there. I can't say that I've ever been actually treated all that well by males ever, it was when I finally came to the realization of that reality I stopped worrying so much about needing or wanting them. It still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth though. Maybe I'll marry another woman in my old age lol. I have the weirdest boner right now. That right there. 07 June 2014 Saturday As promised, something cute and fuzzy. Koalas Though often called the koala "bear," this cuddly animal is not a bear at all; it is a marsupial, or pouched mammal. After giving birth, a female koala carries her baby in her pouch for about six months. When the infant emerges, it rides on its mother's back or clings to her belly, accompanying her everywhere until it is about a year old. Koalas live in eastern Australia, where the eucalyptus trees they love are most plentiful. In fact, they rarely leave these trees, and their sharp claws and opposable digits easily keep them aloft. During the day they doze, tucked into forks or nooks in the trees, sleeping for up to 18 hours. When not asleep a koala feeds on eucalyptus leaves, especially at night. Koalas do not drink much water and they get most of their moisture from these leaves. Each animal eats a tremendous amount for its size—about two and a half pounds (one kilogram) of leaves a day. Koalas even store snacks of leaves in pouches in their cheeks. A special digestive system—a long gut—allows koalas to break down the tough eucalyptus leaves and remain unharmed by their poison. Koalas eat so many of these leaves that they take on a distinctive odor from their oil, reminiscent of cough drops. These plump, fuzzy mammals were widely hunted during the 1920s and 1930s, and their populations plunged. Helped by reintroduction, they have reappeared over much of their former range, but their populations are smaller and scattered. Koalas need a lot of space—about a hundred trees per animal—a pressing problem as Australia's woodlands continue to shrink. http://i.imgur.com/IWWmkYW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5Nuiwu7.jpg http://i.imgur.com/wMO63a0.jpg http://i.imgur.com/lAQ4sQQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/ULXK7w3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/b5ixWOM.jpg http://i.imgur.com/jHt9nTq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/MR1CqlJ.jpg1 point
