Permanent Waves urinates from the top of a massive cliff on Snakes and Arrows.

The only thing is, the cliff is so high poor Snakes and Arrows wouldn't even get wet.....;-)

I enjoy Snakes.......but i laughed out loud when I read the thread title.

Permanent Waves.

Mick

Mick, I thought you would have been one of the Snakes voters cause I know how you love it.

I thought that PeW was his favorite before Hemispheres...

Only you would keep track of those things. The only thing I know is that he loves Snakes and used to hate Hemispheres, but then he saw the light. He still loves Snakes, but no longer hates Hemispheres.

That's because Len keeps individual files on each of us. Isn't that so, Len? ;)

Waves in entirety was written and even packaged by the gods imo.

S&A has quite a few very special moments you'd expect from any rush album and could even be their most mature offering in many ways but, you cant compare it as a full album with PeW.

The guys were in a different place on that one.

My favorite review of Snakes and Arrows:

"This pretentious ponderous collection of anti-religious rock pantoums is enough to prompt the question, 'What day did the Lord create Rush, and couldn't he have rested on that day too?'"

OK, it's paraphrased from a review of Spinal Tap's Rock and Roll Creation, but it fits like a rather smelly glove.

Okay, better in what way?

Just a personal preference. Which one do you like better?

Well "better" is a subjective term. I need more defining parameters to be able to decide.

Even if the whole album were Different Strings and Entre Nous on repeat, Permanent Waves would STILL beat Snakes & Arrows. But seriously, can ANY album (aside from Moving Pictures) compete with The Spirit of Radio, Freewill, Jacob's Ladder, AND Natural Science? I think not!

(I have nothing against Entre Nous or Different Strings, but they are definitely the weakest songs on PeW.)
