tony990
Title is pretty self-explanatory. What's your favorite Rush album? Also, you can rank every Rush album from 1-20 if you prefer (I do!) Sorry if this topic already exists, I looked it up and didn't see it so I decided to create it myself. 19. Presto18. Caress of Steel17. Roll the Bones16. Hold Your Fire15. Rush14. Fly By Night13. Hemispheres12. 211211. Signals10. Counterparts9. A Farewell to Kings8. Moving Pictures7. Power Windows6. Grace Under Pressure5. Permanent Waves4. Test for Echo3. Clockwork Angels2. Snakes & Arrows1. Vapor Trails I'm confused. Are you counting down to number one, or listing your favorite on top? Counting down to number one. Presto is definitely NOT my favorite! lol
JohnRogers
Moving Pictures falls in an odd spot on Tony's list...IMHO.

tony990
Wow...a lot of mixed opinions about Caress of Steel I notice! I didn't really like the album because I feel Fountain of Lamneth was way too long and they just made it so long to stretch the album. "I Think I'm Going Bald" was also a negative, because it didn't tell much of a story and I didn't really dig the beat. Bastille Day and Lakeside Park were good, and The Necromancer was alright, but the other two songs I don't like. Thoughts?

Lucas
- Caress Of Steel ( probably would be #1 if Garden Road had been on it, like IT SHOULD HAVE ) Why should it have been on Caress especially since it would've been on the debut if...well, I have no idea why it wasn't included there I would have preferred Garden Road to have Neil on drums .. and also, I Think I'm Going Bald kills the vibe of the album

goose
Top Group I love these from start to end, every time I hear them Permanent Waves, Moving Pictures, Hemispheres, 2112, Caress of Steel, GuP, Vapor Trails, Presto, :rush: Mid Group I like them a lot, but aren't my first choice to listen to Power Windows, Signals, HYF, Counterparts, Snakes and Arrows Bottom Tier Rarely listen to these and when I do I can easily skip tracks FBN, Clockwork Angels, AFTK, Roll the Bones, T4E

When it comes to Rush, they are one of the only bands where there are no wrong answers. Don't think I've EVER seen a list with Hemispheres last and I salute you for having the balls(despite being female) to do it. Bravo!!!!!

The Necromancer is an incredible piece of music and represents the dawn of the greatest era in music history very very well I didn't really appeal to The Necromancer too much...I prefer more heavier music like Vapor Trails, so that's why I put Caress of Steel so low. The Necromancer would have been better if they took the entire first part out, but they should've just split it into three songs instead of three parts. I didn't really like Fountain of Lamneth too much, probably because I like harder rock more. I guess it depends on what type of rock you like better, softer rock or harder rock. The Necromancer is an incredible piece of music and represents the dawn of the greatest era in music history very very well Agreed. I instantly fell in love with CoS the first time I heard it. Over the three years of owning it it's become my second favourite Rush album after AFTK. It has an atmosphere that is unique and musically it's just so ambitious and I can get lost in it. Every song is a winner. Strange but satisfying.
