Post Unpopular Rush Opinions

Just kinda hated the fanboy hype around R40 and it jaded my enjoyment a little.

Did you attend an R40 concert?

I did. And the hype around R40 was well justified.

The shows were truly EPIC

It wasn't the concert loving. It was the gang together attitude, we know better, you are wrong ,our album is the best crowd that i detested, and others felt that way too.

A lot of guys in this forum, perhaps not intentionally, made some guys here feel dwarfed into insignificance.

Pretty sure a few know exactly who they are.

Posts like this are gonna get me love, I just know it, lol!

I didn't exactly feel that way at all, but I know what you mean quite well.

Rush were a much better pop/rock/synth rock band then they were a prog band.

Mick

Hemispheres is a very...nice...song.

What are they now?

An OK rock band in the studio that perform like gods onstage.

I enjoy they prog stuff...i do. it's just there is some magic for me in them doing the catchier stuff that was slowly introduced on Permanent Waves......that and MP were certainly prog records but the pop direction were hinted at on those two records.

You know Limelight, Entre Nous.

With CA.......Nickelback imitators.

Mick

Funny, I always felt that Nickelback were Rush imitators. Not overtly, but the way the guitarist uses droning open strings against his chord shapes is Lifeson® all the way.

I think it's the production but CA to me sounds like a Nickelback album.

and a song like Halo Effect is straight out of Nickelback's playbook.

just add a YEAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! and you're there, lol

Here is a Rorschach ink blot:

http://images.autourduncafe.fr/2009/07/rorschach-blot-03.jpg

Some see a crab or insect-like figure. Some see two people with their booties sticking out. Others see Nickelback or Alex Lifeson's arthritis-stricken hands.

It's two male monkeys with boobies, each holding one kidney while their other kidney dangles nearby, with a bowtie between them.

And it'd be unarguable.

I see two chimpanzees embracing, a butterfly between them, surrounded by two red guitars.

In the centre is a mummified face wearing sunglasses

Clockwork Angels is a bottom tier Rush album.

It just plain sucks. Individual songs are good, a couple are great, but as a whole it is boring.

And, you too, wouldn't be wrong.
