  1. Signals sucked. The next three albums grew and grew and often bettered even MP. Then Presto dropped, and then the decline happened. Signals is amazing. Whatever, more for me...
  2. Saw Rush there on the second leg of the Roll The Bones Tour. I also saw Phish there in '95. Good times...
  3. The production was so good... they did it twice!
  4. I love classical. Beethoven is a master, but I rarely listen to his works. Instead I go for: Gustav Holst - The Planets 1914-1916 ("Mars" was cited as the inspiration for "Black Sabbath". Metal 50ish years before it was even a thing, it just had to be played on guitar/bass/drums before it became as we know it.) Igor Stravinsky - The Rite Of Spring 1913 (It's debut in Paris caused riots. One of the most important pieces of the 20th century.) - The Firebird Suite 1910 (More melodic than The Rite Of Spring, beautiful music. Check out the finale.) I would also pick Debussy, Ravel, Barber, Bartok, Ginastera, Ligeti. Of course all these composers came long after Beethoven, so they were standing on the shoulders of giants...
  5. Machine gun Trey. The master of tension and release. Dude channels the power of the cosmos. Not even kidding.
  6. In no particular order... Geddy Lee Jaco Pastorius Victor Wooten Percy Jones Les Claypool
  7. I think it entirely depends on your age. I was at an age when the early nineties was appealing to me. Every era had a crap to great ratio. Some were more biased in the crap direction to be sure.
  8. Digital Man. Yes. Territories. Yes. Turn the Page is pretty insane on the verse. Watching him play that on ASOH is always a thrill.
  9. Despite not liking Bruce, I love the E Street Band! Weinberg is great. Aww...I love Bru... TRF in unision: "BOOOORING!" Sorry buddy! I know you love him! I respect him and his high levels of energy he puts in his shows but no thanks! I can't stand the shouting and the boring E Street Band. E = EXIT as in ADIOS! Check this out!
  10. HAHAHA! You never told me that story but I LOVE IT! It's all good man! You know I hate the DEAD but to each their own! I'm a RUSHHEAD AS YOU KNOW! Phish is NOT the Dead!
  11. Saw Primus open for Rush on the Counterparts tour... They killed it and I was hooked. Thought there performance eclipsed Rush's that night. No lasers or videos just Rocking the ƒu©k out!!!
  12. OMG!!!! I'M AN IDIOT!!!!!! PRIMUS WITHOUT TIM REALLY SUCKS!!! I blew it you guys!!! I have to edit my top five right now! DUH!!! TIM IS BETTER THAN GAVIN! FUKK ME! Thank you and goodnight. Dude kills it. Brain has a great feel, but it doesn't quite fit their aesthetic. Jay Lane has been pretty damn good, but Tim is the man.
  13. It was an experiment to see if the denizens of SOCN were any smarter than those in the Feedback subforum. Answer: Not really. Quite a few of them chose the turgidness of S&A and tinniness of Presto over the sublime quality of the Golden Age. Ahh the Golden age! Began with AFTK and ended with HYF!
