There was so much great music made then. Pick a band and they made great music then. Scorpions too. Steely Dan. It goes on and on and on to be honest.... :)

Rick N. Backer
Confession: I wonder if sometimes people list bands in these types of threads that they think will show others how eclectic and varied their musical taste is. Some of these bands are among your 5, favorite acts? :) The BeatlesThe Rolling StonesVan Halen (the Roth era)Black Sabbath (the Ozzy and Dio eras)Rush I just got through a Krokus binge, because Marc Storace was on Eddie Trunk's podcast and I realized I hadn't listened to them in forever. But Krokus isn't one of my 5 favorite bands. I listened to the Cure on the way to hockey this morning. I like them a lot. But, again, they're not one of my 5 favorite bands.
gudbuytjane
At this point in time? RushDavid BowieQueenGenesisThe Who (narrowly edging out a three-way tie with Yes and The Beatles) Though it's constantly in flux, and there have been significant periods of my life where the #1 spot has been held by artists like Roxy Music, Mott The Hoople, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, Elton John, the original Jesus Christ Superstar cast recording -- and so on. :) I just really like music.

I know I can come across this way, but I have always stated that I have around twenty bands/artists that I enjoy and love about the same, so for me it literally depends on the moment, as I never have a solid top five (if you had asked me two months ago, Springsteen wasn't even top ten! I was engrossed in other bands at the time). I think a lot here feel the same way. Only band to never leave the top five ever is Lacuna Coil.
