Silas Lang Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 18 2012, 11:03 AM)Listening now - wow, I can barely discern any of the lyrics - I hope that's because it's compressed... Don't worry, Goobs - from what I could make out, there's no religion bashing going on here.

1-0-0-1-0-0-1 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 To those who are complaining about the "lack of melody" in this song -- this is a heavy rock song. With heavy rock vocals. If you don't like Rush playing heavy rock that's one thing, but don't cry about the lack of melody in a song like this. Want melodic Rush? Go listen to "Rivendell."
brunosamppa Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 The Alex solo at 5:00 in the center channel is so "mono" hahah. Rick mixed the album this time

Cygnus The God Of Balance Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 QUOTE (Godeater2112 @ Apr 18 2012, 12:05 PM) QUOTE (Cygnus The God Of Balance @ Apr 18 2012, 01:04 PM) Did anyone else notice the mistake on the stream player from RS? It said the record label is Atlantic Records! And I thought it was weird that it was not using the new graphics that we've seen for the single and the album. Yeah I let Jeremy @ RoadRunner know it's wrong label plus the Caravan graphics. He's looking into having it fixed. Awesome.. That's kind of a big screw up there.

Silas Lang Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 QUOTE (Nate1647 @ Apr 18 2012, 11:11 AM)Neil hasn't honestly played with this much intensity in DECADES. You can actually hear him playing as hard as he does live, which probably hasn't happened in a while (in the studio). Agree! That's struck me in all 3 tracks from the album so far.
HemispheresserehpsimeH Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I love it! Like Goobs said though, hope it is clearer on the album. But, it is a thrilling song I also hope Alex has some longer solos on the album.
Khan Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 yeaaahhhh baby!!!!!! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v423/KublaKhan/safesex.gif

Godeater2112 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Geddy: "With all the new material... we might have to pinch out your drum solo from the live show..." Neil: "Ha! Do what you need to do Nose-man! I'll solo over the ENTIRE new album then!"
KW84 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Is that a tambourine that I keep hearing before the solo?

This is more old school heavy, like "Bastille Day," IMO.
GangsterOnBoats Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 In my opinion, this is actually a much better written song than the two written and released in 2010...I hope the rest of the record is excellent as well!

I also hope Alex has some longer solos on the album. I have a feeling BU2B2 is *nothing* except Alex dishing out overdriven hammer-ons and harmonics, except at the very end where he adds a pick scrape to close shit out. That's the way Alex roll.
