  1. put me down in the list of Roll the Bones used to be *erm* but now I totes love it! Dinklage did it for me!
  2. Great read Still processing this tour. From first to last - I went to Tulsa and The Forum - and Boston with CygnusGal! and Austin and Dallas and Irvine. It was cool meeting you at the Forum! I really could not get the image of you as Yosemite Sam out of my mind though - when you came back by during the concert to say hi it still took me a while to figure out who you were - sorry for looking at you like "who the heck is that guy talking to?" Next time go ahead and wear your red moustache and floppy hat! :D One of the cool things about meeting on the interwebz! Energy was super high at The Forum, but a different energy from all the other shows. At every other show there was still potential and promise, But at The Forum it was log orders higher, with a maniac edge, everyone knowing it is the high before the low.. of dawning reality that this..is.. at least for Rush tours like this. But, there will be something! After all, Nature abhors a vacuum, and we are all too energetic to not let the next chapter in our collective Rush nuanced and intertwined adventures unfold - It was a summer in a state of grace
  3. Where have you been young lady?! I have been waiting for the new tour announcement :D But, I knew when I saw this thread, you would be here :) my first post in like, forever
  4. Live and Dangerous -vs- Strangers in the Night - now that is a tough lineup. Thin Lizzy wins though - after all, Shenker doesn't have any Irish in him
  5. In the context of Thin Lizzy - Scott of course. But, a shout out to Eric Bell, he is so overlooked, he deserves major kudos just for the solo on The Rocker alone. But yeah, Thin Lizzy is totally one of my top bands too. And their records just keep sounding better and better with each listen, so much heart and depth to their material.
  6. I think of him as being a bit like Darth Vader.... Vader was first good... then bad .... then good again :) Something happened in between his battle with Snowdog and when he saved the three travelers from the dungeons of The Necromancer. The other missing parts of the story are how he became bad in the first place (no one is born bad), and then what turned him back to good.
  7. Yippee Ki-YaaaaaaY! Yep that's a Texas girl!!! Is it that obvious Don't be ashamed...make Lyle proud!!! Where did you get the hat? Lets just say it is not from a drugstore! There are a few real cowboy hat stores, my favorite is Shorty's out of Oklahoma City: http://shortyshatter...tore/CowboyHats Texan's are serious about their hats...I know from experience. Lyle Lovett once sang "you can have my girl, but don't touch my hat" omg- you are so right about that! there is the story of the mom whose daughter got bucked off her horse at a horse show... the mom ran down from the stands and into the arena where her daughter lay in the dirt.... and was yelling "Pick up the hat!! Pick up the hat!!" To those in the know, the shape of the brim indicates what sort of riding you do. What shape is in if you ride bare back? you mean like riding a bare back bronc? or just riding bare back around in the yard for fun? Um....The third kind. For anything else- a baseball cap! :P That's the route my husband seems to take. Go Cubs. I really wanted to make a custom, blinged out a Rush painters cap for the last concert...

  13. There is a lot of great material on DRE What happened to the guys in charge? I believe the guy that originally ran it gave it up and it was taken over by another guy that goes by the nickname 'crazyrunner'. He obviously doesn't put the time in or doesn't have the time to do so. Maybe once the guys go on a long break? I mean look, I get that it wouldn't be an easy undertaking but it seems to me that if you don't have the time and/or inclination don't try in the first place. Clearly hundreds of hours were put into organizing it. Hope it does not go down completely. Most of the links seem to work right now though.

  15. Love that hair! The mega dish in the background is cool too!

  18. I made some screenshots from the video- Just look at the real joy and surprise on their faces! That night- it was good to be Rush!!! Thanks to all the fans who were there who made it so!!! http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o586/animate2112/RnRHOF1_zpsc0ae6869.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o586/animate2112/RnRHOF8_zps95180652.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o586/animate2112/RnRHOF5_zpsfb790404.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o586/animate2112/RnRHOF4_zpsec5c42ec.jpg http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o586/animate2112/RnRHOF2_zps750762eb.jpg
  19. This is easy- "In the End" I have only been playing for about 1.5 years, and am not much beyond changing a few chords. Most of "In the End" can be played by repeating the same 4 chords (D-G-F-C) ... for 6 minutes :)..... Plus, a Bm and two power chords (don't know what they are called) to finish it off. My own personal musical ambition is to be able to play the solo of "In the End" one day I always though this was a great guitar song. I just love that halfway point where they rip into the blarring guitar riff! Best has to be on that one Bootleg from cleveland called Lost Order Of Angels or something, when Geddy does the countdown. 1, 2, 3, 4444444444444444444444444444444444!!! I don't play guitar but my favorite "Air Guitar" would have to be Kid Gloves. That riff just seems so cool, reminds of that "Cliffs of Dover" song by that one guy I can't remember. Absolutely! The transition between the acoustic intro and the slamming part! Geddy had so many little variations on how he segewayed the two parts- "one, two, buckle-my-shoe" on ATWAS. But the 1, 2, 3, fffffoooouuuuuurrrrrrrrr- on the "5th Order of Angels" has got to be one of the all time greatest rock shrieks ever recorded! In other live versions, Geddy humms along with the solo. The hard part about playing "In the End" along with the version on Fly By Night is that the tuning is odd on the intro acoustic part- I can't tell if it is in a different key or is the guitar tuned down?
  20. ..... whoa now...... :o this is what TRF posters used to look like? And you guys drove him away? To me it's pretty astounding that such an ordinary-looking guy can harness so much arrogance and unparalleled assholish qualities. The word 'troll' doesn't even fit really. In fact, anyone that was around during those years doesn't even refer to him as a troll. It's always some variant of his sn....with emphasis on the 'DICK' part being common Oh pshaw - He was obviously a misunderstood artist.... You crass lot of neanderthals drove my dream bass player away with your insensitivity. :boohoo: Foolish mortal. You don't know what you're saying. http://i1149.photobucket.com/albums/o586/animate2112/evildeadplushi_zps7b65603f.png Clearly, the tilted photograph demonstrates his villainy. That was a lesson we all learned from the Star Trek and Batman TV shows from the 60's. The villain is always shown in a crooked shot. I want a Cthluhu plushie! It's so adorable and so terribly evil! :haz: Yeah, the overly dramatic pose suggests that, despite his *ahem* natural charms and strong jawline- he might be a real wanker (isn't that what the Brits say) "Never trust a guy who spends more time on his hair then I do" is always a good motto. (don't worry Treeduck- you are clearly the exception that makes the rule! :guitar: :hi: ) Cthluhu plushie: adorable and evil :dweez:
  21. That is a really cool find. It is so subtle that it would have been easy to miss without the song reference.
  22. Are you trying to prove to Animate that looks aren't everything? Look I'M the pretty boy here thank you! :smoke: :hi: :nya nya: :madra: :cheerleader: Well, based on the evidence presented here, you are either a chick or a pink dude wearing a KFC bucket on your head..... so
