Rush-O-Matic Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Like it. (Thought the RS link was a joke. It is not.) Music kicks ass, vocals don't really have hook, but damn it rocks. 1
ReRushed Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 It's good. I can't wait for the rest of the album.
Godeater2112 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 QUOTE (danielmclark @ Apr 18 2012, 12:06 PM) I knew it would leak!!! WOO HOO!!! AWESOME song. Love it. This is not a leak, this is orchestrated release marketing. ROLLING F**KING STONE of all unlikely places?! Wow.
Merely Space Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Freakin' Awesome!!! Love the variety of feels in what I'm hearing! (I can't believe I'm grateful to Rolling Stone for anything!)
ReflectedLight Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 18 2012, 11:03 AM) Listening now - wow, I can barely discern any of the lyrics - I hope that's because it's compressed... that's because it's metal.
Rush-O-Matic Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Apr 18 2012, 11:08 AM) QUOTE (rushgoober @ Apr 18 2012, 11:03 AM) Listening now - wow, I can barely discern any of the lyrics - I hope that's because it's compressed... that's because it's metal. Damn skippy!
Rushman14 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Holy shit! http://cdn.hometheaterforum.com/6/62/620c8e8f_htf_imgcache_8556.jpeg
ioc Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 mesmerizing to listen while focused on stereoscopic smileys. Whoa. ..............................
snowdog2112 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 QUOTE (GangsterOnBoats @ Apr 18 2012, 10:04 AM) Has anyone been able to decifer the middle section's weird narration voice? No, it's really compressed sounding, the teaser sounds better to me audio-wise. And I'll be the first to say it, just as I expected there's nothing "Bytor-ish" about it unless you want to count the drum fill. Not that that matters, just that people who were expecting Bytor part 2 were setting themselves up for a letdown. Ged sounds fine to me, I don't hear any straining as was commented on but of course now I've got to hear it another 20 times. There's not much of a hook to it, really.
1-0-0-1-0-0-1 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I merged this and Godeater's threads. They were both posted at pretty much the exact same time -- just so happens that Gangster survives as the thread starter. This is the full song, too, not the radio edit!
USB Connector Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) This is the first time Rolling Stone has done anything right for Rush fans. LOVE THIS SONG!!!! Edited April 18, 2012 by USB Connector
rushgoober Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 (edited) VERY FIRST IMPRESSIONS: 1. The sound quality is horrible - I'm assuming this is because it's a compressed file on the Rolling Stone site and that it will sound much cleaner/clearer on the CD. The lyrics are VERY hard to make out. 2. VERY F*CKING HEAVY - definitely a continuation of the sound they started on CP and especially on T4E - not crazy about how relentlessly heavy it has to be. 3. Otherwise sounds pretty damn cool. For awhile I was afraid there would be no real guitar solo, just repeating of the main riff(s), but thankfully there was one in there - not the best Alex solo in the multiverse, but still really cool, and the instrumentation sounds great even with the muddiness of this version. I at least really like it, and I could grow to love it, especially when I can hear it clearer and discern the lyrics! Edited April 18, 2012 by rushgoober
Nate1647 Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Neil hasn't honestly played with this much intensity in DECADES. You can actually hear him playing as hard as he does live, which probably hasn't happened in a while (in the studio). Also, how credible does the article about rush the cover of rolling stone seem now lol. I dont wanna go to work. f**k.
Finding IT Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 7+ minutes of Goosebumps. I can't remember a Rush song that grabbed me by the balls like this on a first listen. It has certainly been decades.
Powderfinger Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Listening for the second time. I am getting a classic Rush vibe from this. It might not be By-Tor, but Alex's solo and Geddy's sustained wails evoke classic Rush to my ears.

Lerxster Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 HOLY f**k!!!!!! CHILL CITY!!!!!!! THAT WAS THE FASTEST 7 MIN RUSH SONG EVER. WWWWWOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rush-O-Matic Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 I'm enjoying watching the users online grow. Second time through now. Rawk!
