R40 tour

Retirement

2014 & 2015 on the nomination ballet of RRHOF

2016 induction into the RRHOF

2012: Whatever they do, certain people won't be satisfied with it.

2013: Whatever they do, certain people will think that they should have done something else.

2014: Whatever they do, certain people will bitch about it.

2015: Whatever they do, certain people will accuse them of being sell-outs.

Ad infinitum!

I disagree. By 2015 they'll be retired, and you can't exactly call them sell-outs after they retire, now can you? no.gif

I predict no R40 or farewell tour. They'll just kind of fade away due to old age after releasing a few compilations, concert cd/dvds, & stuff in the vault from the 70s (but no material that we haven't heard already).

There's a distinct possibility of no R40. It all depends on how long they flog Geddy's failing vocals. It just seems that they're too close to R40 and there's too much money to be made by a big worldwide farewell tour (that is sure to pack 'em in) to be ignored. That seems to be their M.O. as of late. I'm predicting it will happen.

Yeah, there's a distinct possibility of that and a distinct possibility of neither of them happening. biggrin.gif

How much mula did the Time Machine tour make? A lot I guess. The money can be made without resorting to some tired old cliche of a farewell tour that often doesn't really mean farewell. A farewell tour seems more likely than an R40 tour though.

This looks about right to me though I think CA debuts higher (maybe #1!!) and more importantly, the R40 tour is billed as that without any mention of a farewell even though it is. I also agree side 1 of 2112 gets played in it's entirety on CA. R40 will have every "hit" Ged can still sing reasonably well.

I think they do get inducted into the HOF, and it happens within the next 3-4 years.

The new album, ridiculous pricing of tickets, another live c. d / dvd , another Greatest hits album , Neil's new book, the remastered V. T, a final tour , R&R hall of fame

2012 Clockwork Angels released with subsequent tour.

2013 Extensive vacation and Live DVD.

2014 Western Civilization suffers total monetary collapse due to reckless borrowing and spending to support our massive entitlement complex and everyone retires, even the handful that want to work. We start killing each other for gasoline and eating our pets.

2012 March - Clockwork Angels is released

2012 - April - Angry mob lynches Neil for his continuation of the atheist theme (even though there is only 2 songs about it)

---end of band---

Spring 2012: Clockwork Angels

Summer 2012: break (hopefully remastered Vapor Trails)

early Fall 2012: kickoff Clockwork Angels Tour

Summer 2013: leg two

HUGE tour through all of 2014 (hopefully not a farewell tour, but probably)

2015: start digging up old unreleased material

I hope they never make the rock and roll hall of RS magazine's favorite artists

This looks plausible, except I think they won't make a retirement announcement. It will just happen. sad.gif

Also, in 2016 they team up with George Lucas to remaster their DVDs in 3D, inserting CGI Jar Jar Binks and Ewoks. tongue.gif
