Body Double. And it was awful.

This? Or is there another one?

If it's this one, it provided plenty of lusting for 12-13 year old me when it came on HBO or Cinemax back in the mid-80s. I don't remember the story really. I just remember keeping the tv volume down in the middle of the night and hoping my parents didn't walk in on me watching it in the living room!

Mid-1980s Melanie Griffith! :hail:

Did you catch all the supervillain name-dropping in that? And I mean besides the Vulture and Shocker.

They did a good job tying in Vulture and Shocker to the events of Avengers part 1.

My only gripe (and it's a minor one) was Flash Thompson. That's no bully. He was just a rich twerp who even fat Ned could've pummeled if he tried.

Legend: Director's Cut

One of my favourite Ridley Scott movies, and one of my most beloved movies in general. Stunning imagery, and I love the restored Jerry Goldsmith score (even though the studio choice of redoing the eventual theatrical release with Tangerine Dreams score is inspired).

Grade: C

"Posted Image" would be a great title for a horror/suspense flick.

Cripes! Where did it go?! :o

That could be the film's tag phrase!

Glad I’m not the only one.

 Redeeming factors: Melanie as a porn star, the scenery, lol. I'm fascinated by MG's voice/accent as well

Steevo, c'mon - awful ?!?!?

I loved it back in the 80s, but haven't seen it in probably 20 years

Has it not aged well ?? .. What was the problem ??

Are you serious? I don't have enough time to list. Just go back and watch it again then. Holy heck.

OK Steevo, I have you to blame for this

I taped ( yes, VHS ) Body Double from HBO or Cinemax back in the 80s, and that is the only version I have seen

I don't think it was ever officially released here in the USA on DVD until somewhat recently .. and never officially on blu ray here in the States

So I just shelled out 39.95 for the 4K UK blu ray

It'll be worth it alone foe nostalgic reasons !!

I sometimes think you and I were the same person as kids

Back then it was that rectangular box as the channel changer. Channels 2 to 30-something. When mom or dad would nearly enter the room I'd change the channel quickly to a few channels over. This would make a distinct channel changing sound, almost as if you could recognize that the person was badly being secretive

Not to mention that it was the worst time to find out that the batteries in the remote were dead !!!

Luckily, that never happened with the rectangular box channel changer that I'm talking about since it was connected by a long cable to the tv. That is, there was no remote with that one. Thank god.

Here I am back in '84 or '85 watching Body Double in the darkness of the living room:

I haven't reached that level of focus or concentration since then.

Blade Runner 2049

Speak my man! How was it?

Def on the list! Btw did you see Allied yet? Not sure if that's been reviewed here yet.

Not a fan of Brad Pitt. And that's putting it mildly.

It's just like the Tom Cruise syndrome. Not putting me off. I've seen a few decent movies with Pitt anyway.

I understand.

Anytime I like a movie with Pitt in it, he wasn't the main star. I'm thinking The Big Short, Thelma & Louise, 12 Years a Slave, and Burn After Reading.

I can't think of one movie I liked of his in which he was the star. I'm thinking stuff like 12 Monkeys and Interview with a Vampire.

And then there are the movies that I think I would've liked much more if he weren't in it messing it up for me. I'm thinking Se7en, Fight Club, and Snatch.

I'll say this: Cruise has more movies I enjoy and his best in better than Pitt's best. And Pitt's worst is worse than Cruise's worst.

Wowzers, really, Fight Club was messed up for you JB? :o Ok. Both stars are way overrated I know, but at the same time I try to give each new movie a fair go. Did you see him in that IRA movie with Harrison Ford? It wasn't a total disaster... was it for you?? Edited by Steevo
