La La Land

Better than the hype suggested. This is more than just a movie of the moment. It's already a forever classic, I can tell.

The only thing in weeks that's lifted me to good spirits. I can't tell you just how refreshed I feel. Wonderful.

I've heard mixed reviews, but I want to see it.

if you go in accepting the fact that people will be chessily breaking into song like those old time MGM musicals......you'll be fine.

if you see it in a real horrid mood......as i did the first time. you may vomit all over the screen, lol.

i liked it much better the 2nd time.

Your reaction the first time you saw it is actually how I normally am with most musicals. But this one is the exception for me. I just adored it and it's surreal touches and the visuals...the cast...everything about it just feels fresh and original and both sweet and strange.

I think it's the most wonderful thing to have emerged from 2016.

Fantastic Beasts is no longer my number one movie of 2016.

I'm guessing this is about the Scandinavian black metal scene?

If so this looks interesting.

Great but horrible movie:

Why does Daniel Craig always look like he just ate a lemon?

No idea... did not know he did :P

I don't think he's a very attractive actor, but he does a good job in the movies he's in.

His acting seems very wooden to me, and I think a lot of that is due to his lack of facial expression.

I thought he was miscast in Dragon Tattoo. Fassbender should have played his role.

The story of Chile's Colonia Dignidad, an enclave founded by German immigrants under the auspices of creating a Christian fundamentalist paradise. In reality, it was used a secret center for the torture of political dissidents after the assassination of socialist Salvador Allende and the coup of Augusto Pinochet. As a Latin American history buff, I enjoyed this movie. It's truly awful the things that have been done in Latin America in the name of democracy and capitalism. Equally troubling is the hand that the US and nations of Europe have had in it. Politics aside, the film plays out as a pretty intense terror flick.

Yes it is - it´s a documentary with members of Burzum, Darkthrone, Mayhem and other Norwegian Black Metal bands.

I've seen this. Very dark, but interesting.

La La Land

Saw it again.

I can't recall having ever loved a movie this much before. And I enjoyed this way more this the second time. And I came out this the first time convinced I'd seen a major masterpiece.

10/10

Best film of 2016 by far.

Emma Watson is great in this. She is very brave with her movie roles. Willing to push herself...even when she fails to deliver its nice knowing she gave it her all.

This one finally arrived to these shores just yesterday.

Pretty good overall with very minor complaints. I had heard some comparisons to Inception but outside of some visuals, there wasn't anything comparable. Inception literally put me to sleep, Doc Strange didn't. Far from it. There had also been talk of getting Johnny Depp to play Doc Strange...thank Dormammu that didn't happen! Cumberbatch did a respectable job and so did everyone else in it. The astral plane depiction was quite good. And hey, a Pink Floyd tune as part of the soundtrack is never wrong!

Looking forward to his role in the other MCU flicks + the sequel.

Grade: B+

This was also really bad. I like the zombies in The Walking Dead a lot better. These ones are just silly....
