goose
The Tree of Life. The path of grace or the path of nature... Brilliant movie, genius director, enough said. :goodone:A return glory, after a disappointing New World. Tree of Life is pure genius...I'm bummed I didn't catch it in the theater. treeduck
http://i.imgur.com/eHcZQcz.jpg What? A swashbuckling medieval romp, featuring Rutger Hauer at his wild-eyed, rampaging and pillaging best? How can than that not be great!? And a young Jennifer Jason Lee running around naked for half the picture, what more do you need? :hail: http://i.imgur.com/OrPKkDF.jpg A slightly weak horror spoof that turns a bad ending into a good ending into a bad ending. It's essential to see though as it's the only flick where you get the four horror masters Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and John Carradine all together in the same film and acting in the same scenes! Richard Todd is good value too. Overall a good fun horror flick.
Rick N. Backer
Lincoln. All the hype was true, particularly about Day-Lewis. I'm glad we didn't let the kids watch it though. The liberal use of the "n word" isn't something I feel like explaining to a 9 and 7 year old just yet. The scenes showing the debate in congress over the 13th Amendment, with some of the insults hurled back and forth, were priceless

treeduck
http://i.imgur.com/QewJgl5.jpg A daft cult horror feature, with a few things going for it, nice Greek scenery, a few hot chicks, a crazy cult dressed in brightly coloured satin hoods and robes with laughable chants like: "those who enter the chamber of the minotaur must die!" and "we cover our faces in front of the evil one", Peter Cushing as the evil cult leader and Donald Pleasance as his nemesis an Irish priest. http://i.imgur.com/X2lu5ax.jpg Now this one was excellent, a true creepy horror flick. H. P. L.
A classic that never lets down. Seems like I'll have to dig for those two last Cushing movies: I never saw them! Thanks Duck!!

JohnnyBlaze
duck, your last selections reminded me of Race with the Devil. Check it out if you haven't already. treeduck
duck, your last selections reminded me of Race with the Devil. Check it out if you haven't already. Peter Fonda, satanists, and car chases!trivia: directed by Jack Starrett (deputy Art Galt from First Blood) Yeah that's a good one, haven't seen it for ages. I need to see it again. And yeah I watched First Blood the other day, that Starrett guy played a bad ass cop in that, a real hardcase...until Rambo got hold of him! I looked him him up on wiki after the film (I'm always looking these films up on wiki afterwards these days) and he died like in 1989. invisible airwave
http://i.imgur.com/PD7POse.jpg Otherwise known as The Mutations in the US. Saw a bunch of Youtube clips of Joe Bob Briggs introducing his movies on TMC's Drive In Theater and this was one of them. He needs to come back to TV. Miss that dude. John Dies At The End What a weird f'ing movie this is. Still don't know what to make of it.

calirush
Dark Knight Rises. Have a lot of problems with this flick and maybe surprisingly the Blake character isn't one of them There were numerous plot holes to look past but that being said, I enjoyed Dark Knight more than the previous two installments. 'Previous 2' installments to Dark Knight? 1: Batman Begins, 2: Dark Knight, 3: Dark Knight Rises. Like most, I think Ledger gave the best performance but I still prefer Batman Begins.I do think that all of the main actors in the series did very well though. And even the last installment was entertaining despite its flaws
