Some may disagree but this is better than the original. Great performance by Jackie Chan. Now that he is retiring from "Martial Arts" movies I hope that we can see more of these great performances. He is a very good actor although that's sometimes hidden in his comedy/martial arts/stuntwork/

Never saw that. I was worried it'd suck too much. What makes it better? Acting? Fight scenes? Other?

Trouble with that is that Jaden Smith is amazingly annoying...

Nothing is more annoying than Ralph Macchio in any movie, so automatically this movie is more appealing for me. Add in Jackie Chan who owned the teacher role and the terrific cinematography, those are enough for me.

For a Few Dollars More.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly came on right afterwards but I couldn't stay up until 3 a.m.

I should have though.

UGLY is the best western ever! :cosmo:

yeah, probably. Though, For a Few Dollars More and Outlaw Josey Wales are up there too!

I'll see your Josey Wales and raise you a Pale Rider.

In my top 5 of last year. A masterpiece of a movie.

I didn't know anything about it, I was expecting an animated feature! :eh:  Once I realised what it was going to be I enjoyed it though.

EXCELLENT film. Finally got to see it. Visually stunning. Thought provoking. Outstanding performance by Suraj Sharma.

I saw that back in...whenever it was, the 90's? I was well into the idea of a Chinatown sequel. It's not as good as Chinatown obviously, the powerful atmosphere of the original is just not present in this picture and the story isn't as strong either. It's still pretty good though and Jack is always worth watching. And of course Madeleine Stowe is eye candy magic. I think this was the first time I saw her playing a bitchy/femme fatale type character as oppose to the usual damsel in distress roles she'd mainly portrayed up to that point.

Agreed on all points. It feels nothing like the original, but it's good fun all the same. Watching it inspired me to record and watch...http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-MQnCS_NZFOI/Ty6_f9t-CwI/AAAAAAAABB8/dXaBhedZIYQ/s1600/The-Maltese-Falcon_1.jpg
