Now that he is retiring from "Martial Arts" movies I hope that we can see more of these great performances. Nothing is more annoying than Ralph Macchio in any movie, so automatically this movie is more appealing for me. I was well into the idea of a Chinatown sequel. It's not as good as Chinatown obviously, the powerful atmosphere of the original is just not present in this picture and the story isn't as strong either. It's still pretty good though and Jack is always worth watching. And of course Madeleine Stowe is eye candy magic. I think this was the first time I saw her playing a bitchy/femme fatale type character as oppose to the usual damsel in distress roles she'd mainly portrayed up to that point.
