Once watched it with my mum to cheer her up. Shockingly, I really enjoyed it! So funny and surprisingly deep.

Momento

My oldest son turned me on to it. Very clever.

Liked it the first time through.. Thought I'd like it more the second time through (which I got to a year later), but I actually couldn't stand it during the second watch. The non-linear style was just obnoxious that time.

This is one of those cop goes undercover in prison films with all the usual prison film cliches. To go with that is a plot that makes little sense, something to do with harvesting organs from murdered convicts and everyone is in on it prison guards, prisoners, the cops on the outside, everyone but Van Damme. Plus there's a serial killer who cannot be killed who just happens to hate Van Damme. It's silly but It's actually not bad, fairly entertaining, but I've seen this kind of thing before and done much better.

A pretty dull revenge thriller.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes, to get geared up for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which I'm seeing tomorrow.

This was WAY WAY better than I thought it'd be, and 100 x better than the Marky Mark version years ago.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Excellent - The perfect balance of CG and real sets make this movie incredible.

That's great to hear! Without any spoilers, would you say it's at least as good as Rise of the Planet of the Apes?

If you're an ice hockey fan this is the Van Damme film for you. It's kind of an hockey version of Two Minute Warning. The Stanley Cup final between the Penguins and the Blackhawks is disrupted behind the scenes by Powers Boothe and his army of ex-CIA/professional bad guys who turn the arena into a giant bomb in order to force the authorities to transfer billions to offshore bank accounts. Only one man can stop them, yes of course Monsieur Van Damme, Die Hard-style. Even the fight scenes are more Bruce Willis than Bruce Lee. Powers Boothe steals the show here, he absolutely owns as the slick, secret service genius turned criminal, he's worth the price of entry alone.

The Princess And The Frog- decent Disney film, songs are better than I remembered, the animation stunning...but I was left a little cold.

Brave- One of my favourite Pixar flicks, the animation is stunning, and something about this film puts me in mind of older Disney classics such as The Sword In The Stone or The Black Cauldron. Really love this one!

This was great! Probably Wes Anderson´s best work so far. It has all his trademarks: tacky costumes, crazy dialogues, face closeups, colourful photograph, beutiful landscapes, and the majority of his signature actors: Bill Murray, Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson and others. The scene with the Society of Crossed Keys is hilarious!

Solid plot. Early action scenes are a bit graphic for my tastes but overall very enjoyable. I loved his "I am the law" speech.

Sliding Doors

One of my favourite films of the nineties, with surprising onscreen chemistry between Gwyneth Paltrow (at the peak of her beauty) and John Hannah (brilliantly funny). A definite classic for lonely late nights...

Man I sound ridiculous!
