losingit2k
Well we've seen it open the second set on Snake and Arrows Tour and that was great! So I think it would be a great opener, Specially on the Encore! Edited October 29, 2011 by losingit2k
USB Connector
I thought it was a much better closer than an opener.
trenken
Dont like this song at all. Wouldnt mind it just getting dropped.
GUP1771
I agree that it is a good closer. I personally think that The Spirit of Radio is the perfect song for Rush to open with. Very positive and energetic that gets the crowd going.
J2112YYZ
I think it's a good opener but the thing is Rush always opens with a song that everyone without a doubt knows like Spirit, Limelight or Dreamline. So, I don't see it ever being the opening song.
Tommy Sawyer
I think it is a really good closer to the 2nd set.
Can-Utility
Rather Far Cry than TSoR, that just needs to get dropped already

laughedatbytime
Far Cry IS the best thing (well, maybe other than MalNar) off of S&A. But, unlike the way that MLB makes there be a representative from every team in the All Star Game, Rush doesn't need a song from each album in the setlist. I would be perfectly happy if nothing from S&A is on the setlist for the next tour.
Union 5-3992
Feels much more like a closer to me
greg2112
The song was powerful in the middle of the Time Machine setlist, but there so many better choices for an opener at this point in the band's career. The opener should be a classic (ie 2112 overture, tsor never gets old), would hate to see them open with something "newer" - like the dreadful Dreamline. S+A has not held up well for this fan, pretty subpar IMHO, but Far Cry is a very solid tune.'
1 of the 7
Since my interpretation of the song is that it's them looking back at all that's happened in their career, I concur that it's a better closer (ending a show where they've just played many songs from it). But would I mind it being an opener? Not at all - love it and it always gets me fired up! That reminds me - I've been wanting to start a game where we guess what songs are being referenced in Far Cry's lyrics. Now's as good a time as any - head on over to Roll The Bones if you're curious. sonicjams
more of a closer to the first set if you ask me
Drummerrobin
The Spirit Of Radio works far better as a closer than opener IMO and vice versa for Far Cry. So yep I think it would be a great opener. I'd also love to hear YYZ as an opener - now that would be killer!

reani14
rush openers are hard.. Dreamline was great on the 2 tours it opened.. and spirit of radio was an opener for a few tours in the 80's and it still works.. But limelight didnt do it for me on snakes tour.. Barry
QUOTE (Can-Utility @ Oct 29 2011, 07:32 AM) Rather Far Cry than TSoR, that just needs to get dropped already Blasphemy :-) My all time favorite song!! I don't care if they open with it, close with it or play it somewhere in between, but when I see Rush (and I have seen every tour since Grace Under Pressure) I need to hear TSOR!! Enemy Within 77
Good song, but two tours was enough. TSOR will always be the perfect opener for me. I never get sick of it.

I love YYZ (it's in my top 10), and it belongs in the set list...just not at the top of the show, IMO, Toronto excepted...it definitely should be the opener there).
