Xanadu93 Posted June 19, 2010 Posted June 19, 2010 Went to a baseball game with a good friend. Also, the Braves and Red Sox won, and the Yankees lost. Hopefully today (technically it's today; it's 1:10 am) will be great, as I'm hoping to see a good friend that I haven't seen in ten months.

Happy Fathers Day to you and all the TRF daddies.

The yardwork is finished, the laundry is almost finished, the scotch in my glass is nicely chilled, and the T-Bones are ready to go! The Ghetto blaster and the iPod are synched out in the garage ... party on folks! Right now, I am watching Jimmy Buffett on DVD, live at Wrigley Field.

Janie Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Just got back from a two-hour meeting at Seattle Children's Hospital regarding Junior #1. He needs a talking device he can use all the time, not just at school. We discussed the pros and cons of all the talking devices out there and watched him use all the models. Two were easy for him to use but one was a clear winner. Insurance will only pay for one so we need one that will grow with him (for him to use for at least five more years). So, that was a bit of a challenge. The device we went with is very cool. We all have to be able to use it and it seems pretty easy to master. It's obvious he needs one and thank god our insurance will cover the cost which is just shy of $10,000. Hopefully we'll get it by the end of August.

But thank god your insurance is covering it. I think of you and your little one a lot, Janie, and I pray he'll be able to find his real voice. And you've done a great job, being attentive and getting on top of it early and really putting your back into working with him and the specialists. If I were a baby, I would like to have you as a mom.
