  1. Okay so for the first time in years I've been watching this again, and for anyone who has been interested in pictures of Neil there are hundreds and hundreds in here - both with the band and on his own. I have to admit, once it got to the last segment and ending it made me tear up. It has an entirely new meaning and impact now.
  2. I'm glad I stopped in long enough to read this. It gives some solace at time of great sadness and loss.
  3. The Upside. It was very good. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1987680/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_19
  4. I think about you and CeeJ a lot! I miss you guys. I miss the old days of TRF. It was so amazing and fun. The old days of TRF. Sheesh! It sounds like some legendary time in the days of yore. :D A few of us had nothing better to do and never left :P Cool to see many of you old schoolers roaming the halls  Interesting the things death brings about. Long forgotten friends and albums sales to name but 2. I’d say “long gone” friends, not “long forgotten”. But I totally hear you I'd 2nd that. There have been very close friendships created on the board that have continued off the board. But like goose said, this is a wake and it's drawn us all here. Exactly how it should be. This is the first time I've had that 'old' feeling when being here. It's nice.

  6. That sucks they blocked the video. It's just music and visuals, it's not like I'm profiting from it. If someone knows of another place other than YouTube I could upload it too, let me know. Until then, I have some other videos that don't appear to be blocked. This one is YYZ which is lifted from the Medley video. Check it out. https://youtu.be/zT5ukyCsI-8 Try re-uploading it to YouTube. They may block it again but it's worth a shot. If not, Maybe try something like Vimeo. Their free accounts have size limits on their uploads and I'm not sure if your video would exceed it, but it might be worth looking into. It took a while to figure out how to download the file, but finally found it. I re-uploaded it and made it unlisted so only those with the link can view it. So this is just for us now. Hopefully that will keep the video from being flagged again. We'll see. Spread the word. https://youtu.be/-kqYLlVlSJU Nice! We'll see how long YouTube keeps it up. I edited the link in your opening post, too. Thanks. I thought enough to change the link in my signature, but never would have thought to do it on the opening post.

  9. "Some are born to move the world. To live their fantasies." ~NEP 1982 So as this sad news settles in about Neil's passing, I still can't believe he's gone. As scores of people are digging through their old collections to play their dust covered cassettes and albums of Rush songs, or calling to Siri or Alexa to play Rush (which I think is great), for me it's just another day of listening to the band I've listened to practically every day for the past 30 years. But now I'm listening to certain songs with a different sense of meaning or significance, and I can't help but find tragic irony to this song, Losing It. I was talking about this with 1-0-0-1-0-0-1. He found the connection to the first verse, the dancer, to Neil's chronic tendonitis. It became too painful for Neil to continue playing at the level he would demand of himself, and it forced him into retirement. For me, I found the connection to the second verse, the writer. For a man who could have (should have) had the time to write more, Neil was stricken with a disease that left him unable to. Tragic irony. Eerie foresight. Call it what you will. All I can say is that I'll always attach Neil to this song every time I listen to it from now on. Something I never could have imagined. To Neil... "For you the blind who once could see, the bell tolls for thee." https://youtu.be/jEagi9co0Ko
  10. I'm very thankful I took my 16 year old daughter to see the show. She was born in the wrong decade; loves Rush, The Beatles, Zeppelin, and countless other 'classic' rock bands. She was blown away by the music, the precision, the spectacle, the light show... all of it. There were many times during the show I looked to my right and watched her watch, not knowing for sure but being pretty certain this would be it. My last, and her one and only. It meant a lot to me that she got to experience it. Still don't know what Neil is or is not going to do, and how many times that decision may change. Can't worry about it, really. Nothing goes on forever, and this band has given me so much over the years. My perspective will change from wondering what's coming next to just appreciating all the great things that are already there.
  11. I bet Cozy isn't even 10% the bastard that he was on here. Nick's a good guy. I don't doubt it. But he was highly successful at being a bastard on here. I wouldn't doubt it either. All we had to go on was how he treated people here, and regardless of the different monikers he was using that aspect was always consistent. One thing is clear, some of the closest friends I've made from the board started out at odds with me because of their ability to rattle the cage. No one should judge a person based on how they're perceived online. Yeah, for the most part, I can agree with that. It's also why I first said "...isn't even 10%...". But on the other hand, if someone represents themselves in a certain way, what other conclusion can readers come to? Agreed. I've never understood how or why if is that people 'present' themselves as a certain kind of personality if that's not really how they are. Just...be who you are. Right? I can't say I understand that either. I agree with both you and Johnny. I try and do my best to remember that in order for the communication to be complete, the person presenting themselves only accounts for 50% of that communication while the other 50% is how the reader interprets. In many cases that interpretation is spot on with how it was presented, no issue there. In many cases though, that interpretation can be way off mark. All the same, after twenty or more posts presented in the same way the perception is much clearer. If they are coming off like a jerk that consistently, that's exactly what they were going for.

  13. I'm still here from time to time, although I participate very little and don't moderate like I used (and should). Could be a nice thing for some when I pop on, an aggravating thing for others. :) I can't speak for anyone else who may not be around like they once were, but from my perspective it's just how life ebbs and flows and brings people to and from. Life circumstances are my own reason. Some of those curve balls can really steal away the joy in wanting to do much of anything. Nowadays if I browse through the board there are so many members I don't know and I just don't have the time or energy to become as deeply a part of things as I used to. But there is always love for this place. Always. But that's so sad to me although I understand and can fully appreciate that you do have more important things in your life. :) I know about those curve balls too and how they can steal away the joy of wanting to do things. There are a gazillion pics and videos in the deep crevaces of this forum of the varous get togethers and concert meet-ups. A thousand funny stories and of course the famous Exxon tailgate party. Good times. So true. If you weren't a TRFer 7-11 years ago, it'd be next to impossible to find those threads simply because you wouldn't know where to look. Here's what I found: http://www.therushfo...eet-that-trfer/ Great link! Here's a link to a post from Pagscon '08. Lots and lots of pics and great stories from an amazing week all with people from this site. http://www.therushfo...00#entry1382299
  14. So JohnnyBlaze posted a link to this thread and reading through it was awesome. But I came upon a post where I told @sundog I would post a certain pic and I never did. So I'm making good on that. Here it is! and more! http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q275/ceejspics3/100_0621.jpg http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q275/ceejspics3/IMG_0889.jpg During the S&A show at PNC in 2008 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/paganoman/Pagscon%20II%20-%2008/DSCF2741.jpg The Famous Exxon Tailgate!

  16. Facebook tells me he's making goofy faces and drinking beer at a Rangers game. Tells me the same! And it being Tick's anniversary is a completely fortunate coincidence. :D
  17. This post? That post is killer! Killer, I tells ya! It is, dammit! lol I figure if I start acting like a petulant child I'd get a better response. :boohoo: You want lessons Pags my man? You're on! Ok. Listen up you idiots. Back in the day a guy going by the name MusicInTheAbstract (MitA) had a site where he posted all kinds of Rush oddities many of which he had salvaged himself using his own audio prowess. Any how, he, unlike some of the morons on here, knew that the original Vapor Trails release was f***ed up so he put hours and hours into putting it right - obviously he couldn't fix the shite songs on there just the shite production. The site isn't up at the moment but undoubtedly there are some here who have a rip/copy of his handiwork. Meanwhile all those who think the original production is good can go f**k themselves. Done. Other than the 'shite songs' part (because I love them)...
  18. This post? That post is killer! Killer, I tells ya! It is, dammit! lol I figure if I start acting like a petulant child I'd get a better response. :boohoo: I read your post but I haven't heard the remix that you're talking about, so I didn't know what to respond to it. Is it available somewhere? No worries, and I'm not sure if MITA has a way to make it available for download or whatever. If not, I can come up with something. I sound like broken record but it's the Andy VanDette remaster you seek :) Hook me up!
  19. MITA's Rush Oddities site is incredible.
