Rush! Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Pink Floyd for me. Yes are great, but PF have been my favorite band for a long time and I just feel they have more consistent albums than Yes, but Yes are still a fine group.

edgyspice Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Yes. But I voted for ABWH to see if I'd be the only one who voted for them. And I wasn't!
The Owl Posted August 10, 2008 Author Posted August 10, 2008 QUOTE (The Rocinante @ Aug 9 2008, 01:35 AM) Pink Floyd, no contest. Why include ABWH? IMO it's just a shitty version of classic-era Yes, they never did anything worthwhile. I mentioned that it was a joke choice. ABWH was a Yes album.....In all but name. And I really liked that album...."Brother of Mine" "Order of the Universe", "Themes" all greats. Too bad Chris Squire would have a fit if Jon Anderson would ever want to add any songs from ABWH to a set list.
third hand grace Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 I tied it back up w/ my vote for YES! I like PF, but they definitely are a bit depressing. I'll take the anderson/squire vocals over PF. I'll take the Squire bass over Waters. I'll take the wakeman keys over whats his face. I'll take bruford's drumming(and maybe alan white's) over the other what's his face. I'll even take roger dean's art over Floyd. I think some floyd fans have taken too much acid.

I thought I was being defiant in choosing Yes over Floyd; I thought Floyd was probably the better band, but I prefered Yes. Now it's obvious Yes is the smarter choice.

fragile wings Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 It's too hard to choose. I listen to lots and lots of Yes. I Yes! But Pink Floyd is amazing.....

metaldad Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 this is way to close for me, i love the 2 of them
Gompers Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Floyd. Just like them better but both are good bands. ABWH, meh.
librarian Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I like Floyd, but they can really be depressing... 1
Stormtron Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Very close but I have to go with Floyd overall. With that said, Close to the Edge is my favorite album from the lot.
Rushman14 Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 have to go with Yes. I can listen to them in longer stretches than Mr. Pink.
The Owl Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 I still went with Floyd. But I have to give credit to Yes from remaining Prog throughout their whole career. I think they only had one or two albums that did not have songs over 10 minutes.
ArrowSnake Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I love Yes, but I had to go with Pink Floyd on this one.
