Entre_Perpetuo Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Pretty diametrically opposed here. My votes are for the guy who used to be in Elf. 1
Nova Carmina Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Ooh, interesting. That's a pretty great Neil Young album . . . I went with Young for the specific, but Sabbath for the oeuvre.
Tinwoodsman Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

custom55 Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Neil on both. Since Mob Rules is referenced in the comparison, I went with Neil for the artist. If an Ozzy / Sabbath album was mentioned, then I would have gone with Neil / Sabbath. Not a fan of non-Ozzy Black Sabbath material.

laughedatbytime Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 (edited) Heaven and Hell and the Mob Rules stand up well with pre-Dio Sabbath and are better than anything they would have been able to make with Ozzy at the time. Edited May 31, 2021 by laughedatbytime 2
Your_Lion Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Love Heaven and Hell, but never really got into Mob Rules, so I went After the Gold Rush for the album, but Sabbath for the artist
driventotheedge Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 ATGRSabbath with the caveat that it's them for me mostly as the Ozzy version (though H & H is an excellent album)
IbanezJem Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Of the 40+ records I have by Neil, this one has never been a favourite of mine. I could pick at least 25 Neil albums I listen to more. So I`ll give the preferred album to Ronnie and Sabbath but not the overall artist.
Rick N. Backer Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 Heaven and Hell and the Mob Rules stand up well with pre-Dio Sabbath and are better than anything they would have been able to make with Ozzy at the time. I'll go further. Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules are actually my 2 favorite Sabbath albums. I have the same feelings about Neil Young that another great singer named Ronnie had. I don't need him around, anyhow.
goose Posted June 1, 2021 Posted June 1, 2021 Heaven and Hell would get my vote. In this poll it's After the Gold Rush and Neil overall.
