JohnnyBlaze
Not including Rush... Missing Persons - Spring Session MTriumph - Allied ForcesLiving Colour - VividJane's Addiction - Nothing's ShockingREM - all of their 80s stuff!Til Tuesday - Voices CarryThe Outfield - Play DeepThe Cure - The Head on the Door + Disintegration Those are the standouts anyway. How could I alsoForget REM?? UghThat would have been band #11 on my list of ten. I just didn't listen to them much until Eponymous came out.Murmur, Life's Rich Pageant, and Document are home runs. Green was the weakest of the 80s albums IMHO and it still had enough quality tunes on there for me to say it was good.

Mosher
The greatest living American Bone Machine is a great album, but it isn't an 80's album. Any album by Tom is a legitimate contender.

Backer
A rare example when a band's most popular album is also their best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miD_1FN99lc Off the top of my head: Moving Pictures, Purple Rain, Eliminator, Rio, 90125, Paranoid, Blizzard of Ozz, Holy Diver, Screaming for Vengeance, Lights Out, Hi Infidelity. More often, the most popular album by a band is their most popular album for a reason.
Mystic Slipperman
LOTS of them.. I was a teenager in the 80s. Interestingly enough, most of my favorite 80s albums turned out to be from the first few years of that decade. Genesis - Duke, Three Sides LiveIron Maiden - Number of the BeastR.E.M. - Life's Rich Pageant, GreenU2 - The Unforgettable FireRush - All of the 80s albums, but especially PermWaves, Signals, and Hold Your FireJudas Priest - Screaming for VengeanceOzzy - Diary of a MadmanKing Crimson - DisciplineYes - 90125, DramaAsia - first albumPat Metheny - Travels, Still Life Talking, First CircleMarillion - Clutching at StrawsLyle Mays - Lyle MaysJourney - EscapeForeigner - 4Police - Ghost in the Machine I could think of a bunch more, but these are the standouts for me. Rick N. Backer
Quite honestly, since I was 12 on January 1, 1980 and 22 on December 31, 1989, probably 80% of my favorite albums were released in that decade.
