  2. I'm an old guy, so I asked my kids (20-25): "Will you miss Tik Tok?" "No, not really," they said. I asked my students (17-20): "Will you miss Tik Tok?" "No, not really," they said. "There are other options," they all said. End of story. (I think it's hilariously sad, though, how little Americans care about how much of our activity is tracked -- by governments and by corporations.)

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of social media, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of text, or of memes; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and stare at their phones, and to petition the Government for a redress of revenge porn.

  6. Judas Priest - Invincible Shield I feel like there’s no reason for anyone else to write any new metal when JP do this, lol. Like, what’s there left to say? I kid, of course.

  7. errr .... what's Tik Tok?

  8. Exactly. Or, in the case of Tik Tok, a (malevolent) government hiding behind a corporation.

  9. I appreciate this guys incredible talent to play every single note of every instrument and capture the same sonic quality. It’s quite amazing. If that kinda thing does not tingle yer toes......then no....you don’t need to bother LOL.

  10. Oops, Ok, back on topic. Great question, EP! Born to Run is a really good one, as someone that grew up with vinyl "albums" ; I always appreciated when they were arranged so that you could listen straight through at least one side; not too many fast or slower songs in a row and not what seems to happen on a lot of rushed records, a bunch of lousy songs with one hit or whatever. The first one I can think of is "Who's Next", its a great album and that's part of it. Loved it when I was younger and later on read that this also was supposed to be a rock opera that just never came together, but it makes sense that the song order would be thought about a lot and sequenced well if that was the case.

  11. Metal, metal, metal, metal, metal, metal and metal. Then a little bit of metal, a little bit more metal and then finish with some metal. And maybe a metal track slotted in there too.

  13. Brown Eyed Girl was the first song My Sweet Bride and I danced to as husband and wife at our Wedding. To this day, I get goosebumps whenever I hear it.

  14. Not bad but glaciers are slow...The Ice has been proposed too...I wouldn't mind the Blizzard (although too close to the Avalanche ) and Outlaws has possibilities. These are on the registered trademarks list and fans are voting on them. Time will tell if the team will get a good name. Fingers crossed.. The welcome party yesterday had a full house and lots of kids in their youth hockey jerseys met them at the airport. I was surprised at the size of the turnout. https://www.nhl.com/news/utah-nhl-team-welcomed-by-fans-at-delta-center

  18. I have never used Tik Tok but know of others who use it for their business. I would assume they could use other social media for the same thing but I am not clear on why the same scrutiny is not being directed towards Meta, YouTube and Twitter. The foreign government involvement is worrisome but I haven't seen much information to back that up. Seems like a knee jerk reaction IMHO but I don't have a dog in this fight.

  19. Van Morrison every time. Great voice; nice lyrics without being insipid. Funkier groove.

  20. Stones prepping continues. I love this album. Played the hell out of it back in 1973-74. Favorite song is the album closer.

  22. Well, it's been a wild start to the playoffs, so many goals by multiple teams. Leafs managed to win one. Anyone thinking Dallas was going to mop the floor with the Knights was sorely mistaken, Stone once again has a miraculous recovery and manages to score their first goal. Looking at the fans in the stands, Dallas was not living up to their expectations. I was nervous about the Avs against Jets but they scored 6 goals on Hellebuck? We should have won and if we don't split these two games I am not optimistic. MacFarlane really goofed not finding another goaltender especially since it was common knowledge Francouz was going to retire due to his injury. Oh well fingers crossed p.s. and our new team owner has decided to let the fans pick the name of the team since they can't use the Coyotes. Here we go with the equivalent of Boaty McBoat face

  24. I quite like their 2006 album...forget the title. And Repentless has a good energy. But yeah, I'm really enjoying their classics. Reign, Seasons and South are phenomenal.

  29. Taylor Swift and Pearl Jam I'm so happy that two of my favourite artists released GREAT albums on the same day. Tortured Poets is a stunning album, and Dark Matter might be the bands finest album this century.

  30. Modern pop fans are so used to everything sounding the same they can't handle an artist that shakes things up. But seriously though, this is why modern pop sucks. Aside from Taylor, too few artists get away with experimentation. Look at Ariana Grande...we've had lime four albums that all sound the same...even she sounds bored. We need more artists that follow their own path, but I guess record labels today really don't want to support artists through flops.
