  1. Hey Rush Fans The new movie "The Iron Claw" about the Von Erich family who were big in wrestling in the late 70's and early 80's features Tom Sawyer played in full during a cool wrestling montage! This is the film's preview but the actual film plays TS almost in full: I recommend the movie, it's entertaining, but tragic.
  2. Note for note on all instruments and vocals! This guy is a freak.
  3. Hey NoahLutz thanks for listening! It's interesting to hear your thoughts, others have told me it takes a few listens to get into. A bit like Rush perhaps (I wish!) cheers
  4. Hi all Rush fans! This is my band "The Twisted Mile'' hailing from Perth, Western Australia. As you will no doubt tell I am a huge Rush fan! The Album opens in the prog rock, instrumentally focused bent (yes indeed, an exercise in self indulgence!), but I have a mellower, folksier streak shown as the album continues. I hope you have a listen and enjoy! Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album/7DJXB2tLJzrYvRwnFnq4vf... 5. It's definitely cringey. Shout and scream at a gig all you like but this in an interview.
  6. Agreed. They can call themselves Rush. They are 2/3 of the band and don't need to pack it in because their beloved member passed away. I would like to think Neil wouldn't disapprove. What is wrong with carrying on the dream? They had a drummer before Neil. Life is short and they are entitled to another chapter.
  7. I tend to agree. Whilst clever and interesting in their own right the lyrics didn't really suit hard/ prog-rock for my tastes, but I guess it's another element to what makes it 'Rush'.
  8. I think his influences were literary authors rather than song writers. He mentioned F Scot Fitzgerald and Hemingway in interviews when changing from his fantasy based style in the 70's.
  9. Why would he make it up? His anecdote about accidentally hitting Alex when getting an autograph back in the 70's seemed genuine to me. Would be pretty superficial to invent that story.
  10. Dont think that is him on the left. Pretty sure he never played a strat with that hair. Wrong era.
  11. I hated his live bass sound in the later years. Tinny or something.
  12. I can t believe he would sell that 335. His first label purchased guitar when they got signed. I hope he doesn’t regret giving it up…seems irrational
  13. He does seem bitter but I don't know why. He was able to find wealth and success despite being booted out. Think of the musicians like Brian Jones and the Beatles' first drummer who had to watch on from obscurity. He should get over it!
  14. ...and when he learnt to 'swing' through the Freddy Gruber thing his drumming and Rush's music suffered. Yeah, isn't there a story when they all reconvened after his lessons and tried to play together (maybe in the TFE sessions) but couldn't? Alex said, "I don't know what you're doing anymore," or something like that. Personal note: I'm a novelist and writer, and sometimes the reviews of my books will directly contradict one another. It's like Goldilocks and the Three Bears: literally "This book moved too slow" vs "This book moved too fast". In short, there is no satisfying everybody, so might as well just satisfy yourself, then see who likes it. Which is EXACTLY how Rush did it. I'm not sure about Alex but I know I did :P
