Happy Birthday, Grace! I saw the San Francisco Sounds documentary recently; it was really good and she was featured prominently. They had an old interview with her where she was saying the media reported that she and Janis Joplin were "falling down, drunken whores." Her comment was, "Janis and I drank a lot and certainly enjoyed men, but we NEVER fell down!" Classic Grace.5 points

He went through some stuff, especially with his stomach/ colon. What's so heartwarming is Mr Perry's happiness at helping others kick their habit. All the money, notoriety, this simple gesture helping others still seemed very important to him. He turned stuff around, then helped others others. Cool dude. RIP.3 points

Is that what you're getting from the lists? That's not what I am getting from the lists at all. I don't think that's what anyone who's been actively commenting is getting from the lists (although who knows, I can only answer for me). Sure I might joke about someone placing a song I dislike high or one I love low, but that's not what I'm getting from these. I can't imagine anyone deciding to scrap their favorite song in favor of mine- that wouldn't be just weird, it would be unwelcome. These lists are interesting because of the disagreements. That's when I've been learning the most. For me the enjoyment is the exercise in re-examining the songs from a band I love and gaining appreciation for ones I disliked, or an understanding of why someone else dislikes one I like. I've learned a lot and there are a number of songs that I've re-visited favorably.2 points

How awful, I have seen some serious cuts from skates but never one like they had. So young, what a tragedy.2 points

That was a good game, I watched it after I saw the score. Now there are no undefeated teams left. Of the 3 I figured the Avs would lose to Crosby and the Pens since they were ticked about being down 3 games in a row. Never expected the Ducks and Hawks to win but that just shows you can't be sure of anything. This was not my weekend for sports, Avs lose twice and my Utes fell apart.2 points

Watching 'Friends' isn't going to be the same now that Matthew Perry is gone. I'm still a little shocked by the news. He will be missed2 points

I was never a fan, but Mr Perry was great being so open about his addictions trying to help others. RIP.2 points

I watched Friends one time and that was only because of the person whose room it was said that's what we were going to watch. She now loves shows like The Bachelor and the "Real" Housewives of type shows. Make of that what you will. RIP Matthew.2 points

Long ago, I once turned on the show. After 5 minutes, I turned it off. 100% uninteresting. Years later, I did the exact same thing with The Big Bang Theory, although I may have lasted only 3 minutes.2 points

Another horrible atrocity. I feel so sorry for the communities affected. It's a pity this f*cker didn't just top himself first to save all this heartbreak.2 points

Pretty hilarious that they played Taylor Swift music at the end of the game.1 point

This was a weak, disjointed game from the Chefs. Looked very mortal. Sloppy, lots of turnovers, weird/dumb/odd play-calling. The whole inept stew.1 point

Man, I loved Night Court; so willing to be weird, yet clever. Moll was always good.1 point

RIP Richard Moll! I loved Night Court. His facial expressions and comedic timing as Bull were sooo on point. Good at being goofy. I was surprised to see a photo of him today with a full head of hair and looking quite good and distinguished.1 point

I'm nearly out of my primary afternoon snack food of mixed nuts from Costco and my wife happened to be at one and asked if I wanted anything from there. It's the small things.1 point

This morning as I was finishing my daily bass practice session I noticed that I have developed quite a lot of speed and control in both the right and left hand fingers. Practicing chromatic scales as a warm-up has made this happen so secretly that this has gone unnoticed even by myself.1 point

I've been building a raised garden box this fall, in hopes of having a nice little crop of veggies next year. The concrete planter blocks that I'm using are no longer on the Home Depot's website, so I rushed down to the store to see if they had any left. I walked into the Garden Center expecting them to be all gone, but NO! They still have lots of them and they're on clearance! Half price! I bought a bunch more! It's the little things in life.....1 point

Not today, but on Saturday: I made a quick visit to the local recycling center I always go to when I'm visiting my parents in my original home town. It's a small building that used to be a grocery store from the 50's to the 70's, but I always find some good stuff there. But this time I couldn't believe my eyes as I walked to the kitchen utensils shelves. There was a blue mug with elephants printed on it. Exactly the same kind of mug that was my most favorite one when I was a kid! It was in mint condition. And to top it off, right there beside the first mug stood another similar mint one, but in pink. I didn't know it was made in many colours back in the 80's. English quality work. I had to pay 2 €:s for the pair.1 point

Ran into an old friend/co-worker of mine, whom I haven't seen in 30 years. He happens to be an in-law of my neighbor across the street, and he was coming out of the house when I pulled up to my house. DAMN GLAD TO SEE YOU, SIR! I said with joy. We stood there and gave each other the speedy versions of the past 30 years and what we've been doing. Usually, when I run into old co-workers, they are the ones I don't ever want to see again. Today was a WIN!1 point

If you're only interested in single hits, then your mount idea might work. But if you really want effective tambourine playing, then the DW pedal is the way to go. They're awesome!1 point

DW has a self-contained unit: https://www.long-mcquade.com/176244/Drums/Hardware/Drum-Workshop/2000-Series-Tambourine-Pedal.htm If you already have the tambourine and/or pedal, all you need is the Gajate bracket: https://www.lpmusic.com/products/hardware/mounts-and-brackets/pro-gajate-bracket The high-impact plastic frame tambourine should be able to take the abuse of a bass drum pedal beater. I would not recommend using a wooden tambourine with a pedal.1 point

I'm not a drum guy, but it could be a fun experiment. Neil would have those electronic trigger pedals around his kit, and he'd have a tambourine programmed into one of them. You'd hear it in his solo and on Double Agent. You'd be doing the same thing but with an actual tambourine.1 point

Yes. I keep it to the left of the hi hat pedal, and is completely independent of the base drum pedals. At present, I have a cowbell on it I hit with my left foot but I've been tired of having the cowbell there and want it paired up with it's brother on the actual kit again. Plus, I had an old LP hi-hat tambourine but it broke. So, perfect time to get a cheap replacement and switch things up. And, I ways hated it on the hi-hat. I called a local music shop and he was like, "Hey, better to experiment and go for it than not to try it." I agree.1 point

Listening to the latest episode of the "History of Rock Music in 500 Songs" by Andrew Hickey, on "Crossroads" by Cream, led me to download a few mid-60s classics: "Harmonica" by the Graham Bond Organisation "Quinn the Might Eskimo" by Manfred Mann "Crossroads" by The Powerhouse (a one-off studio assemblage of Clapton, Bruce, Steve Winwood, and Pete York)1 point
