The missed open net chances didn't hurt you in the Detroit series. They did in the second round. Great to have you on our side this year, Rick. :cheers:4 points

Yeah this pisses me off because half of the people are calling out Weise for crying to the media. He didn't frickin run and cry to the media he was asked by a reporter what did Lucic say? He simple responded "he threatened me." It's hilarious to see the Boston Press turn this around and make Weise out to be the bad guy. Lucic is a frickin loser and his stock is quickly decreasing. Lucic is a grade-A douchebag, and a crybaby sore loser. He's starting to remind me of Dale Hunter.4 points

The 70's ones are scientifically proven to be better . In all sincerity if you listen to enough Journey, there is no way you could not like them. I am proud of you grasshopper. Sometimes I wish my mind was so open.... :) Its not that my mind is open, its more that I am stuck in a musical era twenty years before my birth and I need extra help in making wise choices! At least you picked the right era and have the courage to give things a shot so you got that going for you which is nice.... :)3 points

So the science is settled on this one too? I knew "my music" was better and now I know why. I just wonder if this goes as deep as to why I prefer the "older Rush sound" to the newer? Probably not. Oh well. Nice post GM..... :cheers:3 points

No shit! If I was going thru that, I would have a hard time being upbeat. I still would remain positive, but I don't think I could compete with Narp's awesomeness thru this. Total respect and admiration. You inspire me to be a better person when I look at issues I have to deal with, shit falls into perspective real quick.3 points

I love this meme because honestly, it's just a stupid funny thing but I was feeling kind of low about wearing a bikini to Las Vegas last summer and I kept seeing this image in my head and it gave me a bit more confidence to prance around in whatever the f**k I wanted to.3 points

As far as me being around regularly the theory works quite the opposite for me. If I felt great chances are I would be around less. It may seem silly to some but feeling the way I have this forum has been a Godsend to me. It keeps me smiling, laughing, thinking and my mind off of worse things and possibilities. Thanks for the post and you're concern..... :)3 points

When I first saw the title, I thought it was pronounced Y-Y-Zee. Even now I keep referring it as that. And..... :o Uh-oh. I've just bumped a 7 year old thread. Darn.3 points

Cygnus Gal, I love those lyrics from The Pass too. One day I got some type of publication in the mail. As I was leafing through, I came across this: Oscar Wilde said, "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are gazing at the stars." I couldn't help but wonder if Neil, since he is such a prolific reader, "borrowed" this thought from Oscar Wilde when he was writing The Pass. Neil made me read more than I had and certainly more diverse authors than I had previously. Quixote Cervantes and Coleridge and Wilde. Opening my mind was a profound experience. I've always loved the way I felt compelled to learn more. And, I really like how he works in the literary references. :ebert: :) Cervantes, not Quixote. They say the mind is the first thing to go... :codger: Something For Nothing also had a huge impact on my impressionable (and extremely egocentric) teenage mind. :musicnote: In your head is the answer, let it guide you along, let your heart be the anchor and the beat of your song :musicnote: Many years later, I have learned that my head doesn't have all of the answers. I have fewer answers today, but more clarity (if that makes any sense).3 points

Well, congratulations to the Canadiens, who simply played better than the Bruins for the last 6 periods of the series. Although it kills me to root for anything with a "New York" in front of it, I guess I'm pulling for BC's Chris Kreider. Let's go Blackhawks. I'm going to give you a pass for trading Hayes, and pull for you to repeat.3 points

5.16.2014 Toronto Can. Great White North Newspaper: Toronto Edition. World publication: DISTO-AP News Wire Interview: Alex Lifeson, Neil Peart, Geddy Lee: Summer vacation and 2015 preview Interviewer: Beatonto Seamaso. BS: So Guys, The summer is here, Canada is still covered in snow...do any of you have any plans? AL: Yep! AL: Heading down to the island and do some scuba dive man GL: Who knows NP: Summer time is relative to what I would like to do, travel, sample some wine, and ride the bike. AL: Wine?...that sounds tasty. NP: No Alex you’re not invited....this is my summer and I’m not toting your ass around on the back of my bike, it’s embarrassing –especially when you go to sleep and fall off...actually its funny! AL: Sorry. BS: So............guys any plans for a new disc or a tour in 2015? GL: Why? AL: Ged, we can’t rest on our past. We are only as good as our last album...which I think kicked ass! GL: Alex, pour another glass of wine...and refill mine please. You’re right, but I’m not thinking of a new album or even a tour for 2015. NP: Hey Alex, where’s your map book for northern Ontario and Vancouver? BS: Planning a new adventure on your bike Neil? NP: Hell yes, I’v got to get out of here! AL: Me too. GL: Great idea Alex. Me? I’m enjoying a good start to the baseball season...and hockey is getting good with the Canadians facing off against the Rangers this weekend. NP: Yeah, I gotta get the hell out of dodge. AL: Thanks Neil thats a great title to a new song. NP: You know Ged we could lay down some tracks for that children’s album we’ve talked about. GL: True that home dog! NP: Give me a shout when you want to lay down the back bone and we’ll pound it out. -get a hold of me before the 29th...after that I’m hitting the road! AL: A kid’s album is a fantastic idea! You could call it Permanent Stains! It can deal with potty training. NP: Oh that’s great! We can reach a new and younger audience!!! GL: I love it! I can hear the tunes now, Jacobs’ bottom, Free Pea, The Spirit of Diapers, Entre’ Poo....I love it!!!! NP: We could do a double disc set and make one a concept album. AL: Yep, that will work!!! NP: I can design a coloring book to go with it...this is some great brain storming guys! AL: Yes it is. BS: So what about a new tour for 2015 AL: We’ll have to see; right now we have our hands full with a new album idea. GL: Come back in Sept and we’ll talk a tour....and a potty break...LOL!2 points

Following months of speculation, Foo Fighters have finally confirmed details of their highly-anticipated eighth studio album. The as-yet-untitled record, serving as the follow-up to 2011′s excellent Wasting Light, will arrive in the fall through Roswell/RCA Records. The album’s release will coincide with the airing of Dave Grohl’s new HBO TV documentary series, which was first reported yesterday. According to a press release, the series will document Foo Fighters’ sessions in eight different cities — Chicago, Austin, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, New Orleans, Washington, DC and New York — as they record the album in various legendary studios. The press release explains: “One song was recorded in each city, every song featuring local legends sitting in, and every lyric written in an unprecedented experimental style: Dave held off on putting down words until the last day of each session, so as to be inspired by the experiences, interviews and personalities that became part of the process. “Each episode delves into the singular regional identity of each city-how each region shaped these musicians in their formative years, and in turn the impact those people had on the cultural fabric of their hometowns-ultimately celebrating their common bond: Every artist that appears in the show, regardless of genre or locale, started as an average kid with the universal dreams of making music and making it big.”2 points

I'm pretty recent but Wish Them Well and The Garden's lyrics affected me very well. Those lyrics, "Thank your stars you're not that way Turn your back and walk away Don't even pause and ask them why Turn around and say goodbye," made me realize that I don't have to stoop to anyone's level. If I'm not satisfied with any dynamics or relationships, I don't have to commit to that if I don't want to. I can just walk away and don't have that hurting me anymore. As for the Garden, that's easy. "The measure of a life is a measure of love and respect, So hard to earn so easily burned." Those lyrics made me realize that you work hard to forge all of these relationships with the various in your life and that it can go away in an instant, and once that's gone, life just seems a little empty and pointless. I just want to do all I can to protect and preserve that Garden full of the good stuff. Oh yeah, the lyrics in Subdivisions would have given a lot of clarity during my high school years. I would have approached a lot of decisions differently had I heard that song in that time. The moment I heard those lyrics, I was like, "Way to depress the dogs and dogs lovers with that one, man."2 points

You asked . On steroids right now and can function (for a week or two maybe). Two days ago I had a Tylenol caplet size growth cut off my lower right arm near my hand to be biopsied. It just looks like I burned myself or something. It is pretty small and has been there for a few years but the doctor thought it a good idea. Truth is I am not even worried about the results (1 week) at all. Just want to feel better at some point. Have an appointment with a neurologist June 10. Have an appointment with a cardiologist July 1 . I asked my primary doctor to check the blood they took just Tuesday for Lyme's disease. Obviously throughout all of this my wife and I have had plenty of advice and suggestions from friends, co-workers etc from my symptoms which have remained pretty consistent. I just didn't want to bore or annoy anyone will the constant posting regarding my health. You are a good man for asking. Thank you..... :) Fight the good fight brother. Wish you the best of luck with all that's coming. You need some good news.2 points

Wasting Light will be a hard album to top. If they can come out with something that is at least half as good as that I'll be happy. I saw them on the last tour and they played over two and a half hours, certainly a band you should catch live if you can.2 points
