I don't even know what to say. Thanks for all of the kind words, everyone. It was just a spontaneous post of what I felt in my heart - nothing special. I guess it made an impression. That's very cool I got quoted. Even cooler for Geddy, Alex and Neil to finally get the acknowledgement they so richly deserve. I'm happy I could represent TRF. I really enjoy my time here discussing Rush and other topics with all of you. Thank you. CG2 points

For me, one of the things associated with being a Rush fan, or a fan of this kind of music in general, was that I it didn't matter to me what other people thought about it. I didn't like Rush because they were popular, or because I wanted to be popular; I liked it because of how it made me feel and think. The fact that it wasn't popular made it all the more special for me because it made me feel like I was enjoying something very special with a group of people who felt like I did. Don't get me wrong: I'm very happy for the band that they received this honor, especially if it is something that makes them feel more appreciated. And I'm even happy for all the Rush fans out there who have felt snubbed by the Hall for all these years. But for just myself, I know that I don't need this for the band for me to know that they are my favorite band of all time. I didn't need their induction into the Hall to validate my devotion to them.2 points

Notified this morning that I'm getting a bonus with Friday's paycheck. Then a few hours later, I got another e-mail informing me that I am also getting a significant (10%) raise!2 points

This would be my guess. But what would really be fitting would be Wish Them Well!2 points

Different strokes for different folks. Some people like what others can't stand. I for instance am a big fan of the entire Presto album! However, I can't listen to the first album, with the exception of Working Man. The 90's were... interesting for them haha. You've got the Roll The Bones rap section, Dog Years, You Bet Your Life, The Speed Of Love (everyone hates it but me). I think at this point I like all decades in perfect harmony, with 70s/80s having priority.1 point

I had not heard of the RRHOF until I came onto these boards. Congrats to the guys. Hope they play La Villa at the induction and Alex does a rant about how much of a joke the RRHOF is lol.1 point

I've changed my opinion about the Hall since this afternoon. Like many of you, I was thinking the nominating committee snubbed us all these years. Now I'm just thinking they're looney and very willy-nilly about their nom choices. Stil no Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Kiss, Yes, Brian Epstein (non-performer category), Carly Simon, etc. Meanwhile, they give noms over the past few years to Laura Nyro (?), Madonna, ABBA, rap and disco artists, etc. They haven't been snubbing us the past twelve years. They're just schizophrenic with their choices: all over the place, and from all different sub-genres of popular music, It's almost a crap shoot who gets the noms each year. Like the outgoing president of the Hall said, getting in isn't a sprint; it can take awhile, and he knew Rush would get there eventually. Considering all this, we should be happy and honored we got in THIS YEAR, before more "deserving" artists, and didn't have to wait another twelve!1 point

Yeah, Deb did set up Hannah. The reason Dexter doesn't expect her is because who really would've before this season? This isn't in Deb's character at all but now that she's helping Dexter cover up what he's doing, she's learning how to do these more manipulative things. It's not hard to believe that Dexter wouldn't suspect her. But why did Dexter help turn Hannah in when she knows who he really is? Now I know she doesn't have the evidence but things could get set in motion if she decides to start talking. LeGuerta doesn't have the proof but everything points to Dexter. She set up Dexter good at the end of the last episode. I think Matthews maybe in some kind of denial over Dexter being the butcher though. He just seemed too quick to dismiss everything that he and Leguerta were investigating. Deep down I think Matthews knows it's true.1 point

Guess my comment "It's way past time those b@st@rds at Rolling Stone deigned the Canadian virtuosos worthy of a place in the museum they have no special claim on calling the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Guess they've reached the point where they can be called as great as ABBA. Whoop-dee-damn-do." didn't quite make it. Congrats, CygnusGal.1 point

It would mean something to me if the RRHoF were a true Rock & Roll Hall of Fame......but it isn't, so I couldn't care less about it.1 point

Good luck! I hope it goes very well for you. Keep your confidence and remember all you have to offer. And, I really hope you get your insomnia under control too. That is a very serious condition and can lead to very serious issues, as I'm sure you are aware. On a light-hearted note, I notice your anime photo is drinking from a mug. Decaf, I hope. ;)1 point

How classy is that guy? That's easily my favourite part of this whole ordeal. I can't picture a better way to say "zero f**ks given".1 point

Kiss should have been nominated and inducted the same year as Rush, since they each had a debut album in 1974. I disagree however, and would say that Kiss has had more impact and influence - not necessarily musically, but in terms of stage shows, thinking of rock shows more of as a theatrical event than just a concert, as well as with marketing. They made an enormous impact and changed the industry forever in those regards.1 point

"Hemispheres." All 18 minutes of it. With Geddy's voice pitch corrected up a whole octave after inhaling helium for an hour.1 point

Why Sorry? Them getting in doesn't change the fact the hall is garbage Yeah, none of us "cynics" are pissed or upset about this. It just doesn't mean a whole lot to us, that's all. It's fun to talk about on message boards, though. But let's not poop on this thread. Lots of Rush fans are celebrating this, and that's cool. :cheers:1 point

The guy next to me last night was having a really bad night. He wasn't very old (maybe in his 40's) but got pissed when they started Territories, saying "oh another f*ckin new one." Went downhill from there. He ended up sitting and complaining with his friend the rest of the first set, then they were making snide comments about me (mostly because of my age) during intermission... then came the part where he pulled out his iphone and decided to let me in on the great secret of hearing Freewill and Working Man, like he just blew my mind. Anyway, the guy was such a dick during the first set & intermission that I was kind of happy about having the farts during the second set, during which time he continued to sit and chat with his friend. Red Sector A came around, and he told his friend they were playing Subdivisions. After screaming out the wrong words to the first part of Tom Sawyer, he stopped, tried again, but ended up just doing that "I don't know the words but I'm gonna make noise anyway" thing. As soon as the house lights came back on, he screamed "This is bullshit! What about Working Man!" So yeah, he had an expensive, bad night... and because he was such a dick, I really hope my farts were extra stinky down there.1 point

Okay, the Texas hair, and VH shirts was a bad joke. I'm just saying, if you were there, you would've seen it. They WEREN'T enjoying themselves, at all. Everyone else was standing during the first set, and showing reserved excitement. Even with as sick as I was, I made sure I tried to act enthusiastic.1 point
