I will get shit for this I am sure but, this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihic3AqopZk

I am not one to cry while listening to music but the orchestral arrangement that is going on underneath the piano, especially towards the end of the song, it doesn't make me cry, but it comes close. One of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard.

Flame away.

Things Can Only Get Better - Howard Jones

Never fails, every time he sings

And do you feel scared, I do

But I won't stop and falter

And if we threw it all away

Things can only get better

I tear up - back then and today still.

This part of "Come Dancing" by the Kinks:

The day they knocked down the palais

My sister stood and cried.

The day they knocked down the palais

Part of my childhood died, just died.

A cruel wind that bows down to our lunacy, and leaves him standing cold in this colony

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZD3BRAiMrAw

A cry for help, a hint of anaesthesia,

The sound from broken homes,

We used to always meet here.

As he lays asleep, she takes him in her arms,

Some things I have to do, but I don't mean you harm.

A worried parent's glance, a kiss, a last goodbye,

Hands him the bag she packed, the tears she tries to hide,

A cruel wind that bows down to our lunacy,

And leaves him standing cold here in this colony.

I can't see why all these confrontations,

I can't see why all these dislocations,

No family life, this makes me feel uneasy,

Stood alone here in this colony.

In this colony, in this colony, in this colony, in this colony.

Dear God in his wisdom took you by the hand,

God in his wisdom made you understand.

God in his wisdom took you by the hand,

God in his wisdom made you understand.

God in his wisdom took you by the hand,

God in his wisdom made you understand.

God in his wisdom took you by the hand,

God in his wisdom made you understand.

In this colony, in this colony, in this colony, in this colony.

This is very personal, but here goes...

It's got nothing to do with the song itself, but I always tear up when I hear Babylon, by David Gray.

I had a friend at College who used to sing it on his guitar. I say "used to", because some crazy jealous F*<&er knifed him in a bar one night, and he died.

I always remember my friend and get emotional whenever I hear that song.

I don't have any. All the songs that used to get me have been destroyed by other artists, movies, and advertisements.

S.O.S. (Anything But Love) by Apocalyptica ft. Cristina Scabbia

The song is told from the emotional core of a victim of sexual abuse. I last heard it before the trials I went through. Recently replayed it and I just couldn't believe my fears and feelings and memories could be so succinctly explained and performed by someone else.

It's really affected me on a very deep level. It's a special song that resonates with me unfortunately.

Another is Til It Happens To You by Lady Gaga. Unfortunately for the same reasons.

A bit personal I know but I am glad these two songs exist.

Listened to this today and had to take it off. Too emotional.

I was a big KC fan early on and in freshman year of high school (1970) someone painted the album cover on the wall of our town pool pavilion. It was so good that the town decided to leave it up.

I had a flashback to that mural today and it made me tear up. Fun times.

Only once and it was the opening notes for the concert I attended on the Vapor Trails tour. Didn't actually cry but did feel like I could. Sort of a mixture of wondering if we'd ever see them play again, thinking of what Neil had endured, and the excitement of attending my first Rush concert in a while.

I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton. I regret not going to her concert last week. She's 70 and she can still play a 3-hour set!!!!! But I can't go to every single show in this city. Then I would be BROKE. Edited by Boots
