YYZumbi
I saw Slayer this summer, when I was at Sweden Rock Festival. It was so bad so I left after a half song. The guitar player was just standing and head banging the whole concert. And it was just BOOM BOOM BOOM, no real music.... x1yyz
I think I would go with Leland Stanford as his legacy has affected me personally. In addition to financing the railroad connecting California to the rest of the US, he founded Stanford University. I worked at the university for six years, and it was a great place to work. The university still owns many square miles of land, much of which is kept as open space, and I find that incredibly beautiful. http://images.slideplayer.com/20/5999057/slides/slide_23.jpg

J2112YYZ
The big 4?-----What? The big four of America thrash metal. They're the most popular bands of the genre and helped it become popular among metal listeners in the 80s and early 90s. They've been called the big four for many years now.

I think the big four originated circa rust in peace. Since then its become more the big one and the three far less popular washed up ones.... If I were to make my own list, Testament would take the place of Slayer. They're much better in every way possible. Exodus? Nah. They're solid traditional thrash but never did anything huge enough to be ranked ahead of anyone in the big four.
treeduck
I think I did an all-encompassing thrash thread/poll a while back. I'll dig it up...
