Introducing Others to Rush

My porn name was Jacob Zanadoo

My best work was "Final Flash Of Glory" and "A-Quarter To Ate"

Oh Lucas...the door you just opened...

My porn name was Broon Bone

My best work was "Alien Score"; "Between Son and 4 Moons" and "Stick It Out Part: 2 - O Barista "

Didn't you star in "In The End: A Passage to Bangcock" under your original moniker "Dirk Longiato"?

That was a dark time when I was a young naive youth just off the bus in Orange County

......But yes....some of my best work

I was a curious and naive freshman in high school when I first saw that. I was amazed, disgusted, and envious all at the same time. After the thirtieth viewing (still a freshman), I was even more amazed and jealous.

Is that what inspired you to take the lead in "Cinderella Man" ??

No, you're confusing me with Earl or one of those other accomplished, West Coast porn stars.

BUT it did inspire me to write and direct my Caress of Steel trilogy which, as you probably already know, consisted of Part 1: Jacob's Lumber, Part 2: The Big Bologna, and Part 3: Hand and Fist. Audiences really couldn't get enough of those so I have a prequel in the works that's tentatively titled "You Whore Your Life".

HAHAHA!!! JB! YOU KILL ME!

Haven't been on here much lately!! YOU RULE!!!!!!!!

To think I was a staple here. This forum would truly die without your input.

Cheers buddy!

I have zero interest in introducing Rush to clueless humans. That fuckingg boat has sailed.

Good Luck to the ones who missed the boat.

Signed,

"The Wreckers"

I'd play Tom Sawyer and The Spirit of Radio before trying to really get them into the band. Maybe Limelight if they're still interested. I wouldn't start playing 2112 or La Villa Strangiato until they're comfortable with the Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures stuff.

Similar memories to many here. Discovering the band, then trying to convince others

that this is the greatest band of all time.

These days, anyone visiting my house for the first time, is cunningly interrogated on their music tastes

"Never heard of RUSH watch this". I then hit them with Rush In Rio. I have more success these days.

 This gets me wondering. What would cause more cringing, blank stares, or running to the hills? Introducing someone unfamiliar to the Rush catalog, or to your personal pr0n stash? Sketchy business either way.

"Jacob's Lumber"

That is the Hemispheres of Rush porn titles

I will probably think of it at the most inopportune time and burst out laughing

:D :D :D

Or go another route. Smoke a good bowl then stream the comedy film I Love You Man. A few days later fire up a blunt and stream the ABC comedy The Goldberg's, you're looking for the episode titled RUSH. Then share MP3 files or whatever you kids do these days.

Reminds me of how I've always wanted to listen to Rush stoned off my ass, but the only time I really do that is with friends, so that means my music aint an option :( one of these days I'm buying the bud and therefore taking the rights to choose the music. I'm thinking The Trees and The Necromancer :)

None of my friends know that I listen to Rush. TRF is my best kept secret. I never want anyone I know to find out that I post at this forum. That's why I never use names or post personal photos that would identify me.

You don't want friends to know you're a Rush fan or that you post on a Rush forum? Or both? Just curious. Glad you feel free to write here.

I never want anyone I know that I post here either. That's why I've been posting lies and fake pics of myself for the past 11 years. The only thing I've been honest about is my screen name. However, since "JohnnyBlaze" is as common a name as "John Smith", there's no chance of anyone here and the real world of crossing paths.

P.S. Any TRFer on Facebook already knows that everything I post on there is an absolute lie also.

This won't help much, but I just don't bother introducing anyone to Rush music. It's just way too much of an acquired taste.

People all butt hurt over Rush fan portrayal in "I Love You, Man" need to lighten up. The truth hurts.

That movie is stupid and the portrayal of Rush fans is ridiculous and represents none of any truth I'm personally aware of.

I stopped doing so when someone compared Rush to meatloaf and made wise crack about how "Back when Rush was actually Rock n Roll" Referring to the first two albums.

I pointed out his missing and decaying teeth and tattered wifebeater before offering free tooth removal via my knuckles.

I don't need that kind of negativity in my life.

I showed 2112 to my friend after she really only knew The Trees and disliked it. 2112 became her favorite song.

It wouldn't even occur to me to try and actively introduce anyone to Rush......

Well yeah, I can imagine you and your friend at the local cd shop. Your friend is checking out some Rush albums from the last 30 years...

Friend: Hey Fridge, how's this album?

Fridge: Wank.

Friend: And how about this one?

Fridge: That sucks too.
