rocket ignites
I don't know his full catalog, but I'm going to go off the radar and say "Little Wonder" off of Earthling...the only Bowie album I own. I love Space Oddity and many other songs like Golden Years, Blue Jean, Changes.... Blue J
Cat people The guitar playing on that is just KILLING SRV baby RIPx2 I was thinking yesterday a David Bowie interview I read, talking about Stevie Ray Vaughan- when SRV and his band (Double Trouble) had signed on to be Bowie's opening act on the tour for Let's Dance, but then Bowie's manager went behind their backs and changed that, and signed someone else on to do it, at the last minute (and I can't recall who it was). And when I say 'last minute', I mean that SRV and his band were literally left standing on the Tarmac at the airport, holding some of their gear, ready to leave to join the tour, and then...nothing. But that was Bowie's management's decision, and not at all to do with David Bowie himself. And he and Stevie never saw each again after that, until about two weeks before SRV died, they were both in New York at the same time, and happened to meet. There were no hard feelings at all...and both of them talked about their relatively new-found experiences in sobriety. I love that story, really.

The K Man
And "Jean Genie" always had kind of a cool beat to it. Also, a FB friend posted something interesting yesterday- watch Mark Goodman give the world's worst answers as David Bowie asks why MTV doesn't play videos by black artists. Go David! (For those unfamiliar- MTV used to play videos 24/7, and for years the only black artist they ever played was Michael Jackson . . . ) That is simply not true. They played the crap out of Prince back in 1982 as well (1999 and Little Red Corvette were played non-stop), and Lionel Richie was played a lot as well. I am not saying they played tons of black artists, but to say that MJ was the only one is simply inaccurate. Anyway...favorite Bowie song? Hard to say just one, but Space Oddity, Life On Mars, Ziggy Stardust, Sound and Vision, etc. are all in the conversation.
