Maverick Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Who among us doesn't love a nice fat bottom? But I'll take a guitar every time. 6
Verena Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I vote for harp and guitar, so I chose the last option. :) 2

Segue Myles Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Guitar. But for many bands, its the voice. And the voice is an instrument if you are Jon Anderson, Cristina Scabbia, Anekke Van Giersbergen or Mike Patton. 2

x1yyz Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Mmm, bass. Especially that really nice, almost farty, bass sound that has a bite to it. Yum. That's why I liked Geddy's Rickenbacker so much. 3

Blue J Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I've been playing the drums since I was a kid, but I still say guitar, to this one. ALL of the choices have their merits, though. But yeah, there's nothing else like the guitar. It's absolutely the most versatile instrument I've ever heard.
Ancient Ways Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I have heard rock music without keys. A lot of it. I have even heard rock music without bass thanks to Metallica. GUITAR!

HemiBeers Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) My fave is definitely the bass! You gotta love that nice, fat bottom end.Well it is the longest instrument on stage, so maybe you have some subliminal attraction to that. Edited December 18, 2015 by 2112FirstStreet 1
RushCanuck Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I voted Bass. To me it's the foundation. I listen to the bass above all else. There is nothing like going to a live concert and feeling the bass penetrate the inside of ones body, haha. 2
Blue J Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 There was a band in the mid-'90s called Girls Against Boys that I believe had no guitarist- just two bass players, and a drummer. Heavily compressed and distorted bass guitar...they definitely rocked.
Mr. Not Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I've always been a bit fascinated with keyboards & synths since they can achieve the largest variety of sounds as well as emulate other instruments. Often times when bands perform live they'll use a backing tracks and I'll wonder why they don't have the keyboardist try to fill in the blank (or sometimes have a keyboardist to begin with) Voted keyboards but I don't really want to pick favorites with something so general
