There's a reason Eddie can only handle a band with his brother (Who he has controlled for 40 years)

and his own kid who appears to be scared to death of his old man.

Eddie's a dick

How many mature rockers do you know regardless of age?

Mature old folks died with my parents WWI generation.

We don't breed much maturity anymore.

You love an old man and an even older man is your next target! :codger:

Eh? Are you applying?

Yes, he was hooked on meth during the 00's, and used industrial ammounts of cocaine during the 80's and 90's.

Eddie http://randomstory.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Eddie-Van-Halen.jpg

Meth??? Are you sure????

OK....you may be right!http://www.dezinfo.net/images2/image/06.2009/rockstarscolledge/1006.jpg

You'd think he has enough money to take care of his teeth.

Valerie ought to get a medal for having stayed with him for the length of time she did.

Have you seen the vídeos Eddie made for the two tracks he wrote for a porn movie? They're really sad, and were made more or less at the time the horrible picture above was taken.

The rock star ego, a never ending source of entertainment and intrigue.

I would care about this if Eddie Van Halen was actually producing new music and if the material Sammy Hagar is producing was interesting or challenging, in any way.

The rock star ego, a never ending source of entertainment and intrigue.

What do you think is the primary cause of it? The adulation of the fans? Or the fawning of the toadies?

I would say both. Most artistic personalities tend to be fairly withdrawn, insecure and shy people. A lot of them self medicate to be able to be social outgoing people and to be able to put in the persona needed.

It's pretty much always been this way, hasn't it? Creative ego bolstered by financial and commercial success. Tons of fawning leeches saying and doing whatever it takes for a chance to pick up the crumbs.

It's the entertainment industry in practice. It really can't be any other way.

Edward Van Halen FIRED from VAN HALEN!

Burbank, CA –

This has been one crazy week in the Van Halen camp. First guitar god Eddie Van Halen, gives a scathing interview to Billboard Magazine, about the lack of talent and work ethic of the past and current members of Van Halen.

Anthony, known for his bong rattling bass and easy going demeanor, remained silent. But former Van Halen front man and singer, Sammy Hagar came back swinging with allegations that Eddie was a liar. The backlash was swift and fiery as fans of the band came to the defense of long time bassist Michael Anthony

In an effort to minimize the damage to the Van Halen brand, Warner Brothers Records President Al McHumphry, released the following statement

In light of recent events concerning the Billboard Magazine interview. We have asked the powers that be in the Van Halen Band that they release Edward Van Halen from any further obligations, now and in the future when it comes to the Van Halen Franchise.

While we will miss Edward and his contribution to the success of Van Halen. We find his attitude “piss poor” and we have verifiable evidence of “sand in his vagina.” This has made him a liability to the band

The Van Halen will be replacing Edward with adequate blues guitarist George Thorogood. And bassist Wolfgang Van Halen will be replaced with original bassist Michael Anthony. Alex Van Halen will remain with the group, as will current singer David Lee Roth.

We hope you will understand that douche-baggery will not be tolerated. We took it for granted that Roth was lying when he was fired. When Hagar left due to similar circumstances, we assumed it was a clash of egos. Michael Anthony is relatively harmless. We have narrowed it down to Edward who is the prick. So we have let him go.

Sincerely

Al McHumphry

Cock of the walk at Warner Brothers Records.

In a statement to CNN, Roth commented on the situation. “I was telling Alex….Alex man! Do you like that song Bad to the Bone? Yeah… I do too. So I made a few calls and finally reached George on his break. I said…. GT you can quit the job at the Joan’s Wholesale Mattress Factory Outlet and come gig with the Van Halen! He’s showin’ Mikey how to play Bad to the Bone right now.

Roth’s reply was “Dave Grohl, The Foos were yesterday’s news! People will pay to hear THIS Van Halen play…With George Thorogood.Dave Grohl is upset for not being considered for the open guitarist spot.

When asked what the new set lists will contain, Roth replied “So far just Bad to the Bone. But Van Halen is like a party favor. Everyone loves a party favor!!!! BBBB BAD!

Yes, it has always been this way. No doubt about it.

I'm always amazed though by any one in that industry who manages to keep their feet on the ground and a level head.

I've never understood anything Eddie has done. He never had his sights set that high. When things got tough in VH he tried to join KISS. Clearly he was more burdened by leadership than concerned with writing good material. If MA was of so little value why didn't he replace him in '85 along with Roth? Wolfgang isn't really an upgrade. Maybe he's a better player but AVH and MA were always the most predictable and boring rhythm section of any band of VH's popularity.

I'm a little baffled by all this Eddie van halen hate that's gone down in recent years. Yes, he's a f***ed up human being. Yes, he hasn't been kind to his band mates. But what gets me is the bashing of his playing and the " Eddie is overrated " bullshit. Its f***in irritating. Who gives a shit what personality a musiciN has? Buddy rich and jaco pastorius, two examples of other influential guys who were known maniac assholes. Do I care? Nope. I care about the music. That's it.

It's ridiculous eddie gets labeled as overrated. How soon we forget.

Mean Street came on Spotify today. That effort alone speaks to the genius of Eddie Van Halen.
