Dallas Cowboys

Recommended Posts

I am a true blue Cowboys fan, so a little biased, but I just do not get all the Romo hate out there, especially amongst so called Cowboys fans. Everyone likes to blame Tony for all the Cowboys problems. He has made some really bad mistakes, but more often than not he has carried the team on his back. I personally think he is a great quarterback. He has been hampered by crap all around him. If anyone actually watched the games last year (I watched every single one including pre-season), they would know that he was running for his life all the time and still managed to win some games and make plays. His season will be remembered by the last interception against Washington, but he was the reason they were still in the hunt at that time.

Why is any famous pro athlete "hated"...?? Sports fans are insane.....

Romo's been inconsistent on the field, he plays for a much-hated team, and he's dated famous actresses. He is a dream come true for the tabloid press and for the irrational sports world.

Why Why Why???!!! So let me get this straight. Please feel free to correct me if I have misinterpreted this.

So the Cowboys are on the clock at 18 with big needs in several areas.

Sharif Floyd a D lineman (one of their needs) who has been rated as high as #3 on some boards, falls into their lap.

The Cowboys instead trade the pick because they can't believe Christmas came early.

So they load up on extra picks right? No they get a pick 13 places later + a 3rd rounder.

New England in comparison gets a 2, 3, 4, 7 for #29.

49ers take pick 18 and draft a pretty good safety - another position of need for the Cowboys.

Fast forward to pick 31 - Matt Elam another top ranked safety and according to Jerry himself, another 19 1st round graded players are still available.

So OK still excited. They pick Travis Frederick???????? O line but a consensus 3rd round grade.

He would have still been there for their round 2 pick.

Why at that point would they not go with a higher rated player, or if Travis is THE guy, then trade down again!!!!

AAArrrrrggggggghhhhh!!!!!

Silly comment about his mom. She is a piece of work. From all interviews this kid seems to be on the right track. Really turned things around. And he is killing it in camp so far!

Let's start the Cowboy season with some sports science from ESPN.

BRISTOL, CT—In an installment of the popular segment broadcast Thursday night, ESPN’s “Sport Science” attempted to investigate the natural phenomena surrounding Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo’s shittiness and provide conclusive explanations for why the Dallas veteran sucks so bad.

“We always want to highlight the athletes who perform on nearly superhuman levels,” “Sports Science” host John Brenkus said. “And really, nobody in sports presents a better case study of a player who spectacularly collapses under the pressure of a professional athletic stage than Tony Romo.”

The four-minute piece, which used high-tech motion sensors and accelerometers to measure the quarterback’s forced and ill-advised throws, revealed that Romo possesses the exceptional ability to f**k up in just 0.64 seconds. The segment also sought to explain the physics involved in Romo haphazardly chucking a perfect spiral directly into the hands of an opposing cornerback.

“We observed Romo missing 98 percent of our targets,” Brenkus said. “While studying the footage, we were able to determine that his capacity to make poor decisions in less than a second greatly influence why he’s so imprecise.”

“There’s not a quarterback in the NFL who can make a mistake as quickly as Romo,” Brenkus added.

The “Sports Science” broadcast confirmed that Romo’s numerous boneheaded meltdowns in clutch situations correspond to an abnormally terrible field of vision coupled with an unparalleled knack for sloppily throwing into double coverage.

In addition, the show used computer animations of Romo’s brain to simulate the precise slowness of neural firings required for the quarterback to stand in the pocket and take a sack instead of spotting an open receiver streaking down the sideline.

Physicist and local professor Dr. Charles Dunbar, who worked as a consultant on the “Sport Science” segment, confirmed that Romo has seemed to defy logic with his horrid play over the years. Analyzing tape of the Dallas quarterback throwing four interceptions to the Giants in week eight, Dunbar said he was intrigued by how the human body could be capable of such an utterly shitty performance.

“It was truly fascinating to scrutinize Romo’s pathetic struggles on the field,” Dunbar said. “We are finally starting to unravel the science behind the dumb shit tripping over his own feet and falling down well before the pass rushers arrive.”

“Those in the scientific community interested in studying piss poor quarterbacking truly couldn’t ask for a better subject,” Dunbar added.

It should have been 21 - 0 within the first 10 min of play and all they got was 3 points

Big loss...

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer will undergo season-ending surgery on his left knee, his agent, Jordan Woy, said Tuesday.

Team owner/general manager Jerry Jones said earlier Tuesday that Spencer might need microfracture surgery, though it was unclear later whether Spencer would have that procedure.

"It's a real setback," Jones said on his radio show on KRLD-FM.

Spencer is expected to be 100 percent by January or February, according to team physician Dan Cooper.

Spencer underwent surgery on the troublesome knee July 25 and has practiced fewer than five times and played in just one game, the Week 2 road loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The plan was for Spencer to play on third downs only against the Chiefs, but he played 34 snaps and had two tackles and one quarterback hurry.

The next day, Spencer reported soreness in his knee but thought it was normal after playing in a game for the first time this season. When the knee didn't respond to treatment, the Cowboys ruled Spencer out of the Week 3 game against the St. Louis Rams.

Spencer said his knee was sore the morning of the Rams game, and it prevented him from trying to participate in pregame warm-ups.

Last week, Spencer was asked if he needed microfracture surgery and he said no, despite ligament damage in his knee. Spencer said he was frustrated that his health wasn't coming together.

"I have, like, soft cartilage on the inner side of my knee that's causing [the pain]," said Spencer, who will be a free agent after this season. "It's not stopping the banging of the bone. It's going to take a little bit more time to heal, and we really don't have time right now."

The Cowboys franchised Spencer, costing them $10.6 million, instead of allowing him to test the free-agent market in the offseason. He was coming off a season in which he had a career-high 11 sacks and was named to the Pro Bowl as an injury replacement for Green Bay Packers linebacker Clay Matthews.

"Now here is a case of a guy that you almost have to tie him up to keep him off the field," Jones said. "You got to tie him up to [stop him from] taking the snaps. He was so diligent in his rehab and so focused on his rehab and the guy, the individual, I have the most empathy for is Spencer, because of the type of person that he is."

The Cowboys were faced with a similar situation in 2007 with wide receiver Terry Glenn. The Cowboys wanted Glenn to take a pay cut because he had ligament damage in his knee, which could lead to microfracture surgery. Glenn refused a pay cut and was released before the start of training camp.

The NFC East is the Cowboys division to lose. Half of the teams are 0-3 and Chip Kelly's high speed spread bubble has burst already by the look of it...

NFC East teams are 1-7 vs non divisional opponents. Wonder if this kind of incompetence will keep them off of SNF.

Nahhhhh...

Yup. College coach fatty overreached himself it would appear. Said when he was appointed that he's a glorified track coach.
