The Aints game is a great concern. It's a classic trap game for the 'Boys. Dez still being capable is a great sign. His willingness to gut this out speaks volumes for his future. Sunday he became a man. Was there to see it and it was indeed heartening. If he and Murrey can stay effective anything is possible.

What about the next one, RGIII and the Washington Banana Skins?

Wow. I think I'll leave that one alone.

Oh, hell I can't. If we beat you Aints, we'll circumcise the banana skins.

:o

We're still gonna eliminate the foskins. Congrats on your OT win while being ousted from the playoffs. Sure, it's sour grapes but it's all I've got. That and a game that means something this week. :moon:

O RYL???

Congrats Skins fans. I'll be rooting for RGIII the rest of the way, which I think will last at least one more week, even with the knee problem.

Poor Tony. He's just not good under pressure ( I don't mean defensive pressure, he's actually pretty good at that), and you could see it all over him Sunday. He's the worst good QB we've ever had. Danny White towers over him.

I really don't think Romo is the problem. You guys have issues all over that team. Very much like the Skins until 3 years ago. Until someone sits your owner down like they did Snyder and tell him to get out of it, shut up and write the checks, the Cowboys will wallow in mediocrity.

Agreed. Steven needs to have the reigns right now.

Well, this is what happens when a Cowboy's fan roots for a Redskins QB. He'll be back, but we'll have to wait and see. This is what you get with track guy's who play football. Lots of injuries. Coach Shanahann is an idiot.

DAMN!

http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/8826772/sources-rob-ryan-fired-dallas-cowboys-d-coordinator

The Dallas Cowboys have released defensive coordinator Rob Ryan on Tuesday evening, according to a source.

Ryan had one year remaining on a three-year contract.

The Cowboys defense finished 19th overall, 17th against the run and 21st against the pass.

Ryan's defense missed five starters due to injuries, including Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff for the first four games of the 2012 season with an ankle injury.

Ryan also missed slot cornerback Orlando Scandrick (broken finger) and backup nose tackle Josh Brent, who was placed on reserve non-football illness for being charged with involuntary manslaughter resulting in the death of practice squad player, Jerry Brown.

He's gonna get a tattoo of Romo and Jerry Jones...

I totally disagree with the firing of Ryan. There are three people who should be taking the fall for the way things are going in Dallas right now, and none of them are Rob Ryan: Jason Garrett, Tony Romo and Jerry Jones. They need to go away. Soon.

Ryan is just collateral damage. The easy scapegoat. But, he did a good job with the defense considering the situation he walked into in the first place and all of the injuries. Garrett is still here because he is a lap dog for Jerry Jones. Romo is still here because Jerry still believes Romo's best years are ahead of him as a quarterback. He is SO wrong... And, Jerry Jones needs to be tested for dementia. He's making a bigger and bigger mess of this team all the time.

I think letting go of Ryan will be the only major thing Jones is going to do. All his talk of big shake ups and making things uncomfortable is baloney. Uncomfortable? Try being a fan.

They should have gave Rob one more year. You can't do much when 5 of your starters are hurt

You release a player. Ryan was fired and for good reason. Gap control was non-existant under his tenure. He regularly pulled our best pass rushers into coverage in games we lost. Bring on Lovie Smith.

I thought about this more and read more and I now agree with the decision. There were way too many times that the D looked way too confused this past season. I have never seen so many times with either too many men on the field, or too few, or guys running on at the last second. Even with the injuries, iot shouldn't have been so bad. I think he tried to make it too complicated and it din't work. I don't think Lovie Smith is going to take a coordinator position.

Monte Kiffin is heading back to the NFL as ESPN's Ed Werder reports the legendary defensive coach reached an agreement on Friday to become the defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.

Kiffin, who turns 73 next month, coached in the National Football League from 1983 until joining his son Lane Kiffin at the University of Tennessee in 2009. Kiffin has spent the last three season as the defensive coordinator/assistant head coach on Lane Kiffin's staff at the University of Southern California before announcing his resignation and a desire to return to the NFL in late November.

Earlier this week, the Cowboys fired Rob Ryan after two seasons with the club. Kiffin was brought in less than 48 hours after Ryan's dismissal, meeting with owner Jerry Jones and head coach Jason Garrett on Thursday.

Under Kiffin, the Cowboys will move back to a 4-3/Cover-2 defense after running a 3-4 system since the 2005 season. Kiffin is an architect of the "Tampa 2" defense, named after his 13 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. During his tenure with the Buccaneers, Kiffin's defenses ranked in the Top 10 in 11 of 13 seasons and the system helped make stars out of defensive tackle Warren Sapp, defensive end Simeon Rice, linebacker Derrick Brooks, safety John Lynch and current Buccaneers cornerback Ronde Barber. In 2002, the Buccaneers defense led the NFL in total defense, scoring defense and posted a league-high 31 interceptions on their way to a win over the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Kiffen is so old that when he was born the Dead Sea was just sick. But If Kiffen still has it, and I think he does, this is a brilliant move. Some say that we don't have the CB's for a cover-two, but Kiffen can adapt the scheme to the players.

Also look for a OC to be added. And as to Romo needing to be gone, who the hell are we going to replace him with? He played half the game at DC with a broken rib. Give the guy a break.

Andy Ried is an awsome head coach. He's done more with less than anyone in the business for a very long time. I'm estatic to see him out of the NFC Beast. I'm also glad to see him go to KC, whom being the former Dallas Texans, have always been my favorite AFC team. Three years tops till Reid gets them to the playoffs, probably two. Hide and watch.

This looks like a Jerry move and not a Garrett move. I would give Garrett one more year because the team never quit on him. Too bad he doesn't have enough control to pick his own coaching staff..............

Jerry has officially morped into Al Davis.
