NobodysHeroine
Alice deserves a thread all his own! Outside of the world of Rush, I have become an official Alice Cooper fan in recent months. Much like Rush, Alice and his band's career spans over forty years and has created incredible music. Not only is he one of the greatest live performers, but Alice also writes about everything under the sun. Plus he has been with the same woman since 1976, despite struggles with alcoholism and a threatened divorce. From what I've heard people who have met him say, he's a true gentleman. Just an overall epic guy. The next time he tours here, I'm going! http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Alice-Cooper-alice-cooper-9586536-400-525.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Alice-Cooper-alice-cooper-9586505-320-320.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/71905707s600x600.jpg http://i1031.photobucket.com/albums/y371/Priestess-of-Syrinx/Alice_Cooper_Live-2.jpg
metaldad
Alice is the man. I have been going to see him on every tour since 1980. Never, ever a bad show and always puts in 3 or 4 gems that he has not done in awhile

driventotheedge
And you wil likely enjoy his show when you do go. I saw him about 5 years ago for the first time since the Welcome To My Nightmare tour in '76 or so and he sounded very, very good. His voice has held up well over the years and of course there are plenty of theatrics. On a side note, his daughter, Calico was a large part of the onstage "show". Union 5-3992
I love the little addition he's done to "Schools Out". He adds some lines from "Another Brick in the Wall Part 2" at the end of it when he plays it live.

MassProductionZone
My 1st concert was Billion Dollar Babies and Flo and Eddie opened for them. I was obsessed and my parents were wary but cool. Recently pulled out Muscle Of Love (easy there) and forgot how show-tune-y it was. Also, let's not forget the 6th member Bob Ezrin who played, literally, a huge part in their history. Off the top of my head Looney Tune is still bada$$. Damn our country rocks
J2112YYZ
I love him and have been a fan longer than any other band i'm into. My older brothers friend is a huge Cooper fanboy even to this day and that's how I got into him. I can't remember if it was my 8th or 9th birthday but my bros friend bought me Constrictor because that was the newest Cooper album at the time and I really liked Teenage Frankenstien and The World Needs Guts when he played them for me. Looking back on it those were certainly early sings that I wasn't all there My fandom just grew out of that. I've seen him five times live and the only live act I enjoy more is Rush. I like that Cooper makes his live sets in a simliar way to Rush. He always does the big hits that everybody knows but then he also busts out a handful of deep cuts each tour to please the diehards. I saw him twice on the tour he did last year. It was great to hear him do stuff like Brutal Planet, The Black Widow, Halo Of Flies, Muscle Of Love, Clones, Hey Stoopid and Wicked Young Man. He certainley knows how to please all the fans who go to see him not matter what their depth of knowledge is about his music. Songwriting wise the man can just do it all. Rock anthems, dark and twisted, black humor and even very good love songs. He covers everything and is consistenly very good at coming up with great tunes. Even if the albums aren't that good he still manages to have some top notch songs on most of his studio releases. I guess i'll end my fanboy rant now Edited January 24, 2012 by J2112YYZ
The Cat 3
I am equally into Alice Cooper as I am into Rush. Alice is so incredibly underrated. I have been a fan of Alice Cooper ever since I bought the School's Out LP with my own money w-a-a-a-a-a-y back in 1972 when I was a lad of just 9 years old. My first full length record...could not believe my ears and have been hooked ever since. I had a great opportunity to meet and spend about 20 minutes just the two of us talking this past summer, it was pretty amazing. Bob Dylan once said, "I think Alice Cooper is an overlooked songwriter". This is so true as Alice's lyrics are so multi-layered and present quite deep commentary on society. I've seen him live so many times over the years and he never disappoints. When he tours this year in support of his new album, "Welcome 2 My Nightmare," you owe to yourself to check him out. http://blog.rogersbroadcasting.com/chezmusic/files/2011/08/alice-cooper-2.jpg Check this out, http://www.youtube.com/user/officialalicec.../32/VK8QZrJTpoY www.AliceCooper.Com

J2112YYZ
QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jan 25 2012, 11:09 PM) Every 4th of July I try to get anyone around me to listen to I Love America. F'ing BRILLIANT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HImhpJAY89I I always get a good laugh when I listen to that song. Cooper was at the height of his alcoholism when he recorded this album. His drinking was so bad at this time that he doesn't even remember writing and recording this album and the one before it. The album 'Dada' does show that even when he was blackout drunk 24/7, Cooper could still write some pretty good stuff. It's really amazing to think that he nearly lost his life to the bottle at this time but has been clean and sober for close to 30 years now.
