KenJennings
Dredg seem pretty underrepresented considering how awesome they are. Endochine also has two incredible albums, one of which is almost impossible to find.

PolarizeMe
Unless you're a Rush fan, Porcupine Tree and Opeth. I still can't believe that there's some people who don't know Opeth....I asked some extreme metal head if he knows Opeth and he replied to me, "Opeth? What kind of metal are Opeth? I think I heard of Opeth....uh actually no, they don't sound familiar". Otherwise, I'd have to say most of my favorite bands no one's ever heard of are more ambient and drone doom based stuff along the lines of Bass Communion, Earth, and Sunn O))). That's because nobody in my group except myself considers drone and ambiance to be music. I'd probably throw in Katatonia too but because of the Skyrim reference of the band, maybe that won't be the case anymore. J0N
Opeth and Porcupine tree are both pretty massive really, considering their styles - Opeth especially.

invisible airwave
QUOTE (MMCXII @ Dec 17 2011, 11:17 AM) Tangerine dream Love their scores for Thief,Risky Business and Near Dark to name a few. Have you see Drive or heard the soundtrack. It's like a homage to their scores and the movie, Thief, as well. The composer was actually the guitarist on RHCP's selt titled 1984 debut. Best Coast is another lesser known band I've been digging lately and, like Dawes, are also from Los Angeles. It's like Beach Boys with a Phil Spector-ish girl group vibe.
