  1. http://www.metalsucks.net/2012/10/02/john-...ness-bus-crash/ Brilliant write up by John Baizley's about his experiences of the whole thing. Pretty nasty ordeal.
  2. Maryland Deathfest always looks great - some fantastic bands playing in 2012, hoping some of them make there way over to the European festival circuit after!
  3. Haha yeah, went over to Hellfest in France and saw all kinds of awesome bands. I've probably gone on about it a load on this forum but it really is consistently the best festival in the world for this kind of stuff, that and Roadburn. Well worth the trip over!
  4. Saw them a few months ago with another of Winos bands The Obsessed - they were both great! As you say, the new album is ace and the new tracks they played all came across well live.
  5. Time Machine by a long way - this one really isn't very much to my taste.
  6. Sounds like they got shaken up pretty bad - a couple of fractured vertebrae and John Baizley's broken his arm and leg - hope they make a swift recovery and are backing touring ASAP - they were really starting to get some decent exposure over here (I guess in a way, as bad as it sounds, this might help them out a little n the long run). Its a shame they had to cut short the tour, they were in fantastic form when I saw them a month or two ago
  7. Agent Orange is probably their best, Better Off Dead is great too. Their newest album In War and Pieces is decent as well, and definitely worth checking out. Great band!
  8. Enslaved are fantastic - haven't released a bad album They've really sorted themselves out live in the last few years too, they've been great the couple of times I've seen them this year.
  9. I haven't, no - will try and check it out over the weekend!
  10. Aye, was a great weekend! Thou, Doomriders, Saint vitus, Yob, Ufomammu, Big Business, The Obsessed, Pentagram, Acid King, Alcest and Sunn 0)) over the weekend - and that was just some of one of the 6 stages! Definitely recommend a trip to Hellfest (in France), its by far the best lineup in the world for this kind of stuff year in year out. Down have started streaming a new song from their upcoming EP. Sounds a lot like you'd expect, really, so it should be a pretty solid release. http://www1.rollingstone.com/hearitnow/player/down.html
  11. Aye, there are fans of just about everything on here. Watched Punk: Attitude today, actually - its a pretty good documentary about the history of punk which mentions Television a few times. Doesn't go into great depth about everything, and skips over some stuff, but as far as music documentaries go its decent.
  12. Haven't been on this forum for a long time - good to see this thread is alive and well! Vitus were ace at Hellfest the other month, the new stuff sounded great. The Obsessed were great too, for any Wino fans. http://www.hellfest.fr/artistes
  13. Aye, sounds like the US one is going down the drain too - lots of smaller bands'll be pretty screwed as Warner Bro's have been downsizing recently and will probably only stick with the money making ones (so Rush'll be fine)
  14. Happy Birthday, man! http://forums.downloadfestival.co.uk/upfiles/smiley/049.gif
  15. They just toured the UK about 2 weeks ago with Malevolent Creation and Vital Remains - good stuff! All their albums are pretty solid, and they're spot on live, if you get the chance to see them.
  16. QUOTE (treeduck @ Feb 8 2012, 11:18 PM) QUOTE (J0N @ Feb 8 2012, 12:54 PM) https://www.facebook.com/pages/1000000-Blac...es-to-Bill-Ward It's been deleted but I just read it on Blabbermouth. Seems like it's Sharon at work again. The way this is going it's going to end up as an Ozzy Osbourne tour... It's still up there - I guess I just mucked up the link. https://www.facebook.com/pages/1000000-Blac...387229524625706

  18. QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ Feb 7 2012, 05:46 AM) I'm not going, but I'm stoked about the At the Drive-In reunion. Aye, ATDI and Refused reunions
  19. If the past is anything to go by its Tony who's holding out for the bigger share - unless somethings come to light to the contrary that I've missed?
  20. It was pretty stupid for their management/promoters to announce it all without signing the contracts - particularly when one of them clearly wasn't happy with the initial one they were offered.
  21. Hellfest in France have just announced this years lineup. Consistently the best metal festival in the world by some distance, if you ask me. http://www.hellfest.fr/artistes
  22. I went to see Mayhem, Anaal Nathrak and Dragged Into Sunlight (almost entirely for the latter two). Anyway, it was in late December, so it had snowed quite a lot. This meant, unfortunately, that Anaal Narthrak couldn't make it to the venue in time. That in itself is pretty bad - they were 40% of the reason I came, but at least Dragged Into Sunlight would still play, right? Well, they traveled for 14 hours in the snow, only to be told that they couldn't play, because the drummer from Mayhem decided he needed 1 hour for his sound check. This meant that Dragged Into Sunlight were pulled from the bill, despite being there on time to perform, so that Mayhem could play a full set before curfew. So it's been 3 HOURS since doors opened before Mayhem finally decide to come on, with none of the support acts billed having played. They finally come on and play some stuff off their best album, which is a good start, but the sound is pretty bad, and you could barely make out the guitars (despite sound checking for over an hour!) As the show goes on, the bassist starts to get pissed off with the crowd as they aren't best pleased with how the night has gone so far, and the setlist doesn't really help either - as they insisted on playing mostly newer stuff, which is pretty terrible washed up Black Metal. The only remotely good part of the whole thing was that the drummer, Hellhammer, was really tight, and his kit sounded great, despite the rest of the band being rubbish. But then again, it would have taken the piss just a little if he wasn't, considering it cost an absolutely amazing up and coming band to miss their slot. The whole set lasted less than an hour, and they don't bother with an encore. Even ignoring the fact that it was such a bitch to travel to the venue due to the snowy weather it was far and away the worst concert I've been to, and I doubt i'll ever top it. That turned out to be a bit of an essay!
  23. I wouldn't really call them Doom, but Hisingen Blues was definitely by album of the year - awesome stuff!
